:p :p :p We still the the MR clients on Rasberry 1 and 2 and Gravely 1 and have Alzheimer's clients on Rasberry 3 and Gravely 3. They are trying to get state funding to open a closed head injury unit on Gravley 2. When I work a unit, I work Rasberry 1 (the more physically impaired MR's.) Even tho they are unable to talk or even move, they damn sure can let you know when they don't like something and manage to let their personalities shine. It's really a tough job, but I love it (other than hating nights.) PM me with your Mom's name. She may remember me. I worked as a floor nurse from 88-91 and floated shifts. We have a nurse that is coming back to us from Tenn that has worked here several times in the past. Is your mom moving back to Blk Mtn soon?

Holy fuck, Larry! ...I used to work at The Door Store (http://www.doorstorefurniture.com)!!!

(A note for everybody else: this was a chain that sold lower to mid-priced, contemporary furniture. The name came from their origin; making tables out of recycled doors.)

I had the front desk at the Park Avenue location. What a fun gig! Damn, that was a looooong time ago...

Still remember a few of my customers. There was this couple of guys...one was the Indian from the Village People, and his lover was the GM of the Big Apple Circus. What an interesting household that must've been...

I also recall that one of our showrooms was located a block away from a gynecological clinic called "The Door". Occasionally, directory assistance would mistakenly give unsuspecting young women the phone number to our store! The salesmen always seemed to enjoy that.

Anyway, it's a small world!

As a teenager:

first job - at an ice cream store
(shitty bosses who treated us kids like crap) (I realize it now - didn't know better then)

then on to

The local Hardware store where I worked for a couple years - then:

as a Screenprinter/graphic designer for a local sports store chain my last couple years of school and then,

as an adult:

The United States Army

I worked in Military Intelligence as an Interrogator/Strategic Intelligence Debriefer/Linguist for eight years

I've worked in different places in the US, a couple different embassies (Morocco and Zagreb), Been throughout Bosnia-Hercegovina, Europe and have translated for several VIP and top ranking officials/politicians including the SecDef at that time

When I got out of the service, I began back to college full time and worked part time at a feed-n-seed store....

a few months later, I was called BACK to the Army for another full year active duty - supposedly doing Intelligence Analysis for the whole Bosnia thing, but I pitched such a godawful fit ('cause that's not my job), that I ended up doing Operational Security Surveys all over Bosnia and Hungary... (I don't know which would've been worse...ha)

then when I got out again, I worked for a local S. Charlotte company where I did translation (blueprints, documents, etc) as well as admin crap - when the admin crap outweighed the language side, I hit the bricks....

The I did construction for a firm out of Cornelius - I was the site Super, lining up the contractors, inspections, doing inspections/punch work - stuff like that - pay was only decent but I had a huge F-350 work truck that kicked arse.

The I went back to work for the Government as an instructor at a Military Intelligence school in AZ (in the same field I had worked while on active duty) I was one of three civilan instructors in the whole joint. I would've kept that job forever, but living in AZ was KILLING me - my skin was falling off basically - so I had to move home to humidity....

so now I work for one of the big banks and do my farming thing for fun and (meager) profit...
