We are getting 3 more pallets of sod to finish the back yard after the dirt dries enough to be evened out and then the fence goes up. Already planned for that. We got money back at closing to cover that. Trees are later this summer. For now, Murphy is on a short leash... and he likes to dig. :(

No shit, your the governments dream. Someone who doesn't have enough sense to set up the right deductions so Uncle Sam can hold on to your money for 12 months and draw interest. I usually owe a little on Fed and get back more than enough to cover the feds in state money

Dude, aren't you knee deep in debt? Maybe a little of that should have gone to pay some of that off.

I love letting the goverment hold my money. I have them take a shitload out, and I really enjoy this time of year. How much interest are you really gonna earn over one year? 5% of $10,000 is $500, which you have to pay tax on anyway. Personally, I don't think I'd have the discipline to sock this money away on top of what I put into regular savings and my 401k on a monthly basis. It would likely just get absorbed and blown on candy and pron. This way, it's just fun to get it back, so me and the government are both happy.

This should be recognized for its quality.
Thank God for the child deduction. It's going to save my ass this year. Past several years I've owed $2-$3,000/year but this year it looks like it may only be around $500. I can't remember the last time I actually got a refund.
I can't remember the last time I actually got a refund.
I can. But I was a broke ass grad student at the time so I'd probably rather forget. Last year we pretty much broke even between state and Feds.
But this year? I'll take a pic of the new deck once it's built and put it in this thread later on.

http://216.7.172.5/forum/showthread.php?t=36417He's a fool. I honestly don't see how he even has any credit left. The stupid money decisions would also explain the marriage problems from a few years back. If he gets sick or something the bank is gonna come claim everything he owns. But then again at that point the government will step in and we'll be paying. Frankly I don't think he should spend money on internet access unless its a necessary job expense, but if that was the case he could always write it off.

Almost 3 years later (nuts) I wonder if the Cougar is negative equity?

We paid down all our debt in preparation for purchasing the house. We buy everything in cash & check card. The only thing we owe on now is my student loans, the cougar and, of course, the house.
We have $15k equity in the house on day one and can refinance in the near future to pay off the first two.
Touch that. :ylsuper:
Oh, yeah... just to give you some satisfaction, the cougar is worth half of what I owe on it. It's still a great car and I have never had ANY problems with it. I plan to drive it until it dies.

I call bullshit. AS bad as you were in debt before there's no way you're already out of it short of selling off everything you own. I'm sorry but Chik-Fil-A just doesn't pay THAT good.

34k plus monthly bonuses. Not too bad for fast food management. Nice thing is that I am now exactly 3 miles from work. Mrs PG, however, has to drive 30 miles to the resort that she manages on the ocean. I would be changing jobs before putting up with the drive on highway 501 in rush hour traffic. Between me and her, we are doing ok now.
