An FYI for Stargazer: Slydevl IS fat. He could lose 75 pounds and still be fat. If he's able to follow through and become "skinny" (though few people on any diet maintain losses permanantly), he'll be able to hide an entire family of Mexicans in the loose skin on his neck alone. On top of that, he's ugly and doesn't make the kind of money most Duke grads should command, which would indicate some other deficiency, either in motivation or intelligence. Either that, or he's a hippie-type who doesn't care about money, which would be perfectly honorable, though based on his political rantings, we know that's not the case, so it's most logical to assume that he's just an underperforming capitalist. However, he is one of God's children, and deserves our love and occasional pity, especially since he's trying very hard to make himself a little easier on the eyes of the world.

This is a great thread. slydevl gets slammed and proceeds to lash out in a most unseemly manner at me, Patti, Stargazer, and anyone else who good-naturedly pokes fun at him or tries to defend those that he unfairly attacks, despite the fact that he invites such comments with his own posts. I can picture him turning all red and steam coming from his sweat-stained collar, just like in the cartoons.

(sidenote for any observers unfamiliar with history: I bear no ill-will toward slydevl or anyone else on this board. Sly, that's great that you're losing weight. I'd like to drop about 20 myself and get down to what I like to call the "Mendoza line" of 200 lbs. At 6'2" that would be an ideal weight for me. For for the love of God be careful with that diet. Get a physical when you're halfway to your goal. :)

If my comments provoke other people to attack me then that is fine. IMO there is nothing that is off limits in R&R. Just don't act shocked when you start something and then get blasted for it. well, it started as a harmless joke but then star laughed at something which pissed sly off. then while sly was simmering, sadic threw gasoline on him. since then patti and star have been adding firewood. Morgan tried to put it out but then sly decided he would add firewood too. now we have a whole slew of gaukers adding kindling. I beleive patti and star got too close to sly and are now burning too.
