View Full Version : My wife fucked up the floor in our foyer...

The foyer has a parquet floor on it. She put a long piece of tape on the floor for a kid's game during our 3 year old's birthday party. The tape is the blue stuff you use for masking windows and trim when you paint. Anyways, she pulled it up and the finish came up. Now we have a nice line...VERY obvious...going through the foyer.

How did I get rid of it? Would I have to strip and refinish the WHOLE foyer???

Yes, If was blue masking tape it should have not pulled up the finish. Solid wood or pargo?

Wood. And it WAS the blue tape. She used it so the finish wouldn't get screwed up...:weeping:

smear ostrich feces on the stripe, let sit for eight months, and remove with a grapefruit spoon.

don't mention it.

I think he is lying. I think he banged his wife in the foyer and his toxic man-seed striped the oil based floor sealant.

Ok...we'll go with that. Do I need to refinish the whole floor?

You sure it pulled off the finish or is it just residue from the tape? Get some greased lightning and try to see if it will come up. If it's pitted, then yeah, it took the finish. Must be some cheap ass hard woods though.

I'll try that. I think it's the floor. Doesn't really seem to make sense. They've had all kinds of stuff happen to them...and they've always looked fine. I just can't believe that fucking TAPE would mess them up...

the yep, you're looking at sanding and refinishing... a rug might be a good idea short term.

BTW... floor sanding sucks ass, because its so damned hard to keep the floor level.

It says right on the roll not to use on wood floors.

sue the company. That tape is not supposed to do that. I'm serious. It is a legitimate claim.
