Are nasty. They were without 2 of their best defenseman and they still dominated the Canes and still scored 7 goals. Canes still have some issues.

They are the best team in the NHL right now, and 1 month in, they haven't let up. And they are fun to watch.....I hate saying nice things about Buffalo, but they deserve it right now.

Their new uni's still blow.

Ahhhh, that felt good....

despite the score of last night's game and the result of the three games played so far, I gotta say as a Sabres fan that the Canes worry me most. they're the one team that can skate with Buffalo. you give away the puck in the neutral zone and they'll get a good scoring chance.

as ugly as the Sabres unis may be, Rod Brind'Amour is uglier. horse-faced motherfucker.

probably not. thank god they held on to Marty Biron. all the talking head and fans were clamoring for a trade. how that tune has changed. the GM knows best.

I agree we match up well if the Canes can get a playoff rematch. Like you said, they both are fast and skilled and fun to watch. Can't say I won't be praying for a Ottawa-like meltdown from the Buffalo Banana Slugs in the first round though!

wont happen....If they stay healthy. I can't believe they've done as well as they have the last couple weeks. Top two defensemen out. top playmaking forward out. top goalie out. Connolly out who knows how long. They got a whiff of what it'll be like to have Lydman and Tallinder out at the same time the other night when Ottawa basically took a win away from them by scoring three in the third to erase a 2-1 lead.

Good news for me is Afinogenov comes back this weekend. Good news because I take my daughter to the Lightning game Monday and she's a big fan of Max's. she was bummed when I told her he was hurt and may not play.

Maybe. If Afinogenov comes back strong and Connolly can contribute on the power play, I like their chances. But hockey seems to be the one sport where home ice means very little in the playoffs. Didn't each of the lower seeds in the west win their first-round series last year?

Hard to believe how the Pens were looking at a two-seed less than a week ago but now probably will end up fourth or fifth. Pens-Sens will be an awesome 4-5 matchup. I'd almost rather be a two-seed in the east: rangers in the first round and the winner of the thrashers-lightning in the second.

Sabers should win the east. Can't get a grip on the West but I don't think it will be Detroit.

I am no Sabres fan, but when they wear those throwbacks (like in game 5 tonight), its tough to not want them to win.

the sens definitely hit their stride at the right time. buffalo looks overmatched. If it was't for miller, there'd have been three blowouts.

Yeah, Buffalo's taken a beating when it comes to pro sports. (which makes me glad, as a native New Englander, to have the Sox to fall back on).
