it doesnt work as well as it should for the amount of time you spend putting it up. I always go free hand these days. That and a wet rag for mistakes ( yes I know, i do make a few)....and i have done A LOT of painting lately.

Spend a couple of extra bucks for the good stuff and it will work better.

Check out the 'delicate' tape. 3M makes it.

What makes you think I didn't?

That's what I used.

I think I'll just use a straight edge next time. Live and lean I guess.

Live and lean I guess.which way do you lean? does it make a difference one way or the other?

Depends on what you're masking with it. I use painter's blue for my models. It takes a lot of rubbing on the edges to keep it from bleeding. You can't just press it on with a single swipe and expect it to work no matter what they lead you to believe.

Yep, bought one this afternoon and redid the edges. Looks much better.

I tend to lean to the right, but that's for another thread.

Great advice--painted for a lot of years but never had to use tape.

I've used a wide Putty knife and place it against the glass edge or door frame while I painted. Takes a little longer but does the trick
