Went to my first game this year on Jan 20th. first off, a night at the RBC watching a game is a hell of a good time, even the non-sports fans we had in our party had a great time. and for $12.00 a ticket it hard to find a better time.

as for the game, two things stuck out.

First off, Cam Ward has zero confidence right now. He's down right horrid! as a former goalie I'm confident in stating that defending between the pipes is 50% ability and 50% emotion. Cam was awesome during the playoff run last year, but is just plain flat now. they should have made a better effort to re-sign Gerber. you need two so you can ride the hot guy.

secondly, as a team, they have a huge emotional crash when the opposing team scores a goal. it was very strange to watch them ride the emotional roller coaster that evening.

Cam is def. in his sophomore slump, no doubt. He will turn it on when need be tho, he's been acceptable thus far. As far as resigning Gerber, Ghrame is very capable of being better than Gerber, hell, he helped TB win the Cup.

The emotional roller coaster is only b/c our defense is still injured, and not enough confidence in it.

All in all, we'll be ok, we'll figure out a way to make the playoffs.

did you just start watching the Canes? We're only 3 wins away from taking over 1st place in the Southeast, and hockey generally works that way...you beat someone down 6-2 one night, the team usually turns around and beats you the same the next night at home. Bad effort yes, but the Canes are ok. We're still trying to mesh our new defenseman in, and Gleason just got reactivated. Keep faith.

The Canes will be fine...they're only a few games out of the SE lead, and they're still in the playoffs, plus they have played the whole year so far w/ numerous injuries to the D...as far as Gerber, he's been HORRIBLE this year, so I'm glad we let him walk.
Come playoff time, we'll be ready to roll.

I stand corrected...I hope they can pull it together and get in...(once in, it's anyone's Cup)
