Who has the cheapest for good quality? Got about 30 images I want to print at 8x10 to turn into a wall mural.

You can get a 1Gig around $20 now a days. From almost all manufactures. I personally like SanDisk and Lexar, but that's personal preference alone.

I think you were asking about printers, not memory sticks themselves. I've never really used them, but since my (home) printer has died, I've decided no more than I print I should just take my images out to have them processed. I havent tried them yet, but I figured the first place I'd try is Wolf Camera - I doubt they'll be cheaper than Walmart or even a drug store, but I figure they know their shit the best. If they're 50 cents mroe a sheet, that'd only be a difference of $15 for your project and I'm sure the quality would be better.
Your going to laugh but the local newspaper photographer uses Cosco. Says they have both digital and chemical developing. He swears by them.

Wal-Mart works fine. They normally have multiple machines you can use.

I was going to suggest trying Walmart, but considering you were talking about making a mural I didnt in fear of starting another pun thread.
When I used to work at Staples our print center used to occasionally print photos for folks. They were always kind of hit and miss since that's not really what they're trained to do. I imagine kinkos would be similar in that regard, but I dont have any first hand experience with them.

Kinkos and Wal-Mart have kiosks. Freestanding things. I just wonder if the quality is all that good before I go over there prepared to print out 30 pictures.

Yes... but you'll have to pay attention to which kiosk you use. Make sure they'll print up to a larger picture. Some will only print 5x7 will others will go up to 8x10. Nice thing is at Wal-Mart you don't have to keep the pictures if they don't come out how you like. You'll be able to edit and crop some from the kiosk.

If you're serious, I could use one. I have one already, but need a spare. How much?

That's really good to know. Once I put all the images together, I want to spread them across the wall at about 6' long, 3' tall. Should be a really cool piece.

Oh god... I have to jump in here. Wolf Printing sucks... I mean, they'll print your pictures and such... but you never really know what you're going to get. That's because their machines aren't ever calibrated to make sure that what you put in, is what it spits out. Also, Wolf people make 1.33 an hour and usually (in my experience) know nothing about photography and professional printing.
I know you're all probably saying, "What a snotty bitch!" But just hear me out. You can find excellent labs run by photo professionals that don't cost a whole lot more than Wal-Mart or CVS or whatever.
Try adorama.com You upload your stuff to their New York office and they mail you your prints which I think are AWESOME! All their equipment is calibrated every day so there's little chance of getting shitty prints.
This is my two cents, now carry on.
:woohoo:
