I would love to get the ball rolling on the American Legion info on here. I heard that Denver and Burke Co may have played a game last night. Is there any info on that? If it is wanted, I have this nice nifty computer program and would just LOVE to keep the stats for the Area on Caldwellbaseball.com. All you would have to do is scan your scorebook or just send info to info@caldwellbaseball.com and I can put the stats in or fax scorebook pages to me at 828-757-0794.

10 or so guys have been working out, and are patiently waiting to gather-up and form a roster. Maybe they'll be together for a 06-02-07 early season game at Veteran's field, but if not that will mean the other guys have made a deep run and that would be GREAT.....So who knows when they'll CRANK it up..Coach will turn them loose asap...I'm sure.

Coach Hyatt at West, the one year he coached legion before he got screwed out of it, played several teams from SC. He probably still has those contacts. If whoever is asking this question would truly like to schedule some additional games, he could probably help.

The Shelby Post 82 Road Warriors got a 3-0 win over Gastonia and NC State recruit Jake Buchannan.

Post 82 was playing it's 9th straight road game. Eric Shuford tossed a 4 hit shutout for Shelby. Garrett Alexander and Patrick Allen had 2 hits each.

Buchannan pitched well for Gastonia, but didn't get any support.

Shelby moves to 8-1 on the year.

They continue on the road this week as they play at Hickory on Wednesday and at Chester SC on Friday.

Post 82 comes home for the first time on Saturday night as they welcome old rival Cheryville in the home opener.

I'm not sure of the road name but they play at Kings Mtn. High. From Charlotte if you go through KM on business 74 turn left at the first stoplight past the hospital. The HS is about a mile and a half down on the right. When you see the HS go past it then you will see the middle school. Turn right just beyond the middle school to get around to the baseball field.

Henderson County had 2 games over a 3 week period and the boys were not ready for live pitching at all. The way Blain Howell pitched it wouldn't have mattered. Caldwell, Cherryville, and Rutherford are all tied in the loss column with 4losses.

I know Caldwell's losses are to Asheville as part of a DH, Lake Norman as part of a DH (the second half got rained out and played the other night), Cherryville and Rutherford.

Cherryville has lost to Caldwell, Burke, Henderson and Asheville.

Rutherford has lost to Asheville twice and Cherryville twice.

Nothing is really decided because Rutherford and Caldwell play at Rutherford on Sunday and Cherryville plays AT Henderson on Monday.

As for the Eastern Division, all eight playoff contending teams are within 3 games of eachother and all the teams have 2 games to play this weekend....

Was informed yesterday by the Taylorsville Post 170 coach, that the remaining games on Taylorsville schedule had been cancelled since they could not make the playoffs anyway. Since much has been made on this forum regarding the pros and cons for Legion this would be a strike against. It was stated that this was done by the Commisioner of Legion and was not the teams choice
