Can a team play to many games? Shelby Post 82 played something like 38 games this year. I have heard some say that the kids were burned out with the number of games plus the trip to the Northeast.

Opinions?

It can affect the pitching unless you spread the innings.

When the National Regionals role around, there are some teams there that have played 60-70 games. A lot of other states play tournaments on the weekends and games during the week. A lot like adult softball leagues.

We have IMO played too few games this year. We only played the 18 conference games and no non-conference games. We had a stretch where we only had 3 games over 2 1/2 weeks.

We didn't hire a coach until late so when it came time to schedule games we were kind of late trying to find teams to play.

Our pitching should be well rested but our bats went cold when we weren't playing. We started out 7-3 and went 3-5 after that with 1 win being a forfeit. We finishe d 10-8 5th place and are backing imto the playoffs.

Our boys are not burned out from playing too much and if our bats get hot we could go deep in playoffs. The last 2 years we played alot more games and when we got put out of the playoffs some of the boys were "physically glad". Don't take that wrong and think they wanted to lose but they were worn out.

I do think you can schedule too many games and burn them out. After last year some of the boys slept for 2 days straight.

think there is any rule about how many games you can play. Burn out is a issue but I think it could be the practice in shelby that starts January 1st. Makes for a long season.

There was a young man named Quatlebam (sorry if this is spelled wrong) that played for Shelby the past couple of years. Did he age out or has anyone seen him.

dont know about the draft just remember him being a heck of a player and just wondered where he is playing. Maybe he was unable to attend summer school in Raliegh and play also.

Dusty Quattlebaum is attending 2nd summer session at NC State, and working hard on his baseball skills in preparation for his opportunity to be a Wolfpack Baseball player. Following summer school, he will enter the fall semester with 23 hours of academic credits!

Thanks for asking...
