Why would not the American Legion World Series be a popular event for TV?
Think there's ever a chance of this? Just seems like a good fit.

ESPN used to cover the championship game i beleive the contract expired and never renewed.
It irritates the snot out of me how some things are televised on ESPN (Poker?) compared to some things that SHOULD be televised there (Legion World Series for example).
Oh well... Maybe one day.
I can't believe that there is no interest from one of the sports networks in televising the A.L.W.S. I have to think that it's just a matter of getting everyone on the same page money-wise.

ESPN is a business. It will broadcast whatever makes the most money.
In the mid nineties, the parent company of ESPN put out a video of Micky Mouse and Santa in which the rodent* explained what Christmas was about. No mention of religion. Why? The tape was an effort to make money. Santa is a bigger moneymaker for business than that troublesome and controversial rabble rouser from Galilee.
I digress, but you get my point.
*No, UNC fans, not the one in Durham.

While Legion baseball is worthy of ESPN's attention, so too is Poker, X-Games, Drag Racing, etc.
As for poker, it is the TRUE reality TV. How often do you make decisions that could affect your life to the tune of 8.25 million dollars?
....sorry my man, poker is a game of cards. Uhhhh, can I say... get a life? Give me real sports like legion ball, and for that matter ESPN should S-can the so called LL fastpitch crap and replace it with talented TB teams competing across the US. I hope your next post includes something about rec ball hockey or seniors 9-ball.

yeah, your post carries merit. Haven't watched the old worldwide leader lately? Guess you missed the X-Games then too. They don't just cover sports. Oh, and "The Bronx is Burning" is a frigging drama, tied to the Yankees. Gimme a break. ESPN has varied their programming.
And I never called poker a sport. It's reality TV in its purest form.
Perhaps you should head down the street, turn left into the dollar store, and buy yourself a life.
Just curious, are you the parent of a legion ball player? If so, then I am also pretty sure you are the kind of parent that is living his sports thrills out through his kid, which is very very sad. Hope he's not a pitcher, because he'll need Tommy John surgery before his 18th birthday with you pushing his buttons.....geez brother, don't take it personal when a TBR member disagrees with something you post. If your interest lie in poker on espn, ok by me. I'll turn the channel. As for who I am as a parent, well lets just say I hope my DDs will be the best that they can be in whatever path they choose. I wish the best for your kids as well. peace. Marlin
PS Got any 3s?

don't fear, I won't be back....wow, I crossed the line with the "get a life" blast. I'm truly sorry for that. Poking fun was my intent to you and even unintentional as I intended, it was disrespectful.
I KNOW you have a life and I personally appreciate your knowledge of sports. I hope you'll continue to post whenever you can. Marlin.

i'm a bit biased ; ) but at the very least these games belong online...espn btw also broadcasts hot dog eating contests over Independence Day MLB...ridiculous...

Travel ball over LL on ESPN/ABC? No one would watch and neither would I...
