what was your shutter setting? appears a bit slow for the cook waving a spoon at your lens.

yeah, I was a little slow. I wanted SOME motion blur, but not that much. i didnt have my flash with me, so i knew I'd be a little screwed.
like I said, I know it's a poor shot, but i kind of liked the composition
i love shooting wide. it makes everyday scenes -- like dinner -- look like they could belong in a travel magazine.
convert that one to black and white and see if it helps.

yeah, the next thing I really want to work on is my processing skills. I'm guessing there's a lot elements can do that I haven't grasped yet.
dig, i tried to open the file you sent me but it said it was corrupted when in decompressed.
