Great accomplishment and congrats to Coach Reynolds,,,,,,,, I agree with the comment about him that "although he's had talent, he has that rare ability of getting the best out of all his players and teams...... always been able to motivate his kids to respond in a positive manner and win games a lot of folks felt he had no chance of winning".
This attribute is what separates the truly great coaches from the "just good ones",,,, we all know that not all coaches truly know how to win ballgames,,,, they may know how to teach hitting or fielding, but they don't really understand how to win and to many its just a crapshoot, they show up and hope for the best.
The truly great coaches know what they're doing before the very first pitch is thrown. When I think of some of the best coaches of my lifetime (Joe Ferebee-Rowan Legion, late Bernie Edwards-NW Cabarrus HS),,,,, certainly I would put Coach Reynolds in this category.
Again, congrats,,,,,,,,,,,, and thanks Luigiboy for sharing the article.

well said tj couldn t have said it any better they are true leaders and develop a level a trust and commitment with their players that is unsurpassed!!! They are able to relate and convince their players it and all else in life is about "we" together and not "I". For no one reaps any succes whatsoever w/o the help of soeone elsse thru our entire lives!!! Yet, coaches unable to instill this completely never achieve this level of success and cooperation and sacrifice for the betterment of the group and purpose!
can't believe i have looked over this for so long. i had the pleasure to get to know bobby dale and rocky bennett over the summer. great guys who made me a true fan of the cherryville program.
hats off to coach bdr
