Who would you most like to see interviewed by the mod's here on TBR???

What college coach draws your attention or what club team is of interest to you??

Any college coach would be great to hear from. How/when they recruit, what they look for, etc. What a typical college volleyball player's schedule looks like, in-season and out. What is the general opinion of NC/SC volleyball? Seems alot of colleges look west for their recruits, much like softball used to be or still is in some instances. Why is that? Those kinds of questions.

I think it would be nice to speak with the girls that are graduating this year. I think everyone would love to hear about their season and their plans for the future. Just a thought. I know you can't speak to all of them, but I am sure there are a few people on here that could suggest a few players.

Would love to hear from any senior who has signed or not, to try and pass on what they have gone through to get where they are now. (does that make sense???). we have done some interviews with college freshmen in softball, but it doesnt have to be an interview, we would welcome them just sharing their recruiting process with us here on the board.

am talking to a local D2 volleyball coach about doing an interview currently. will keep ya posted.

Hotsundad thats a good question and would like to hear that myself!! I know from my experience here in my area not alot is done by highschool coaches in my opinion. I was told recently by a college coach they find most of there recruits through Club/Travel ball teams and also word of mouth from other coaches. But I am sure there are some highschool coaches that do. I know from my own experience this past travel season I saw lots and lots of college coaches at the big national tournaments that I was involved in all up and down the East coast.

good gawd, i hate to admit this, but in softball, the percentage of coaches who know how to get a girl recruited is less than 5% on a whole statewide. there are reasons for this which we wont go into. again, a college coach only has so many days that they can go out and watch/recruit. going to a hs game to see one player vs going to a tournament and seeing 2-3 dozen prime players is where its at. i suspect we will have some club people on the board soon, alright, i'm hoping.....

cheeze you are correct. I know that for softball, college coaches go to the weekend tournaments and that makes economical sense too. However, your High School coach can (and some do) do the work necessary to get their girls noticed. Maybe talking to some club coaches would be good too.

I think or at least in my experience, the hs coach will do more to get them noticed only because usually the club coach is a parent of a player and we all know what that means. It is not always the case, but you do see alot of parent/coaches wrapped up in their own kid even if they are not the best player or potential college player on the team.

I guess talking to both could not hurt, perhaps the college coach would be the better one to shed light on that one.:thinking2:
