Conference Tournaments

3A Cape Fear Valley Conference Tournament begins today. #1 seed Triton is the odds on favorite to win it all. They are 19-1 overall and 13-0 in conference play. They are led by 5 seniors with playoff experience. They are, Allison Johnson, Casie Core, Stephanie Wood, Jasmin Hicks, and Taylor Capps. I am a Harnett Central fan, but I've got to give these girls credit they are a state championship caliber team.

If you would please list your conference (1A,2A,3A,4A...ect) so everyone knows who is who and where. Also I would like to see everyone post a list of there conference schools so we know who we are talking about. Preferably in order of conference standings for 2008.

Unfortunatly for the Pac-Six teams there is no conference tournament. SO the finsih to the regular season is very important for these teams as to who finishes where and who makes the state 4A playoffs!! Some big games tonight in conference as 1st place Person Rockets visits 2nd place Jordan Falcons. A win by the Rockets gives them a #1 seed in the 4A East Bracket. A win by Jordan causes a tie and tie breaker depends on tonights game also!!
Another big game in Confernece tonight is Riverside at Chapel Hill with that game having seeding implications also. Will update after tonights games.

#2 Grays Creek defeated #7 Union Pines 3-2, sorry no scores.
#3 South Johnson won over #6 Southern Lee, 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 25-14
#5 Western Harnett Upset #4 Harnett Central 23-25, 25-14, 25-23, 30-28.
Tournament play resumes Tuesday with Triton hosting both semifinal matches.

Triton won Tuesday over Western Harnett.
They won in straight sets 25-14, 25-17, 25-12.
they will play Grays Creek who won over South Johnson 3-2. Scores were 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-15.
Finals tonight 7pm at Triton.
