I know West Iredell (strong team) defeated Enka in the Western Finals last year. Did West lose some firepower, or did North just overtake them?

My understanding West lost some, but North has been looking towards this year for awhile....North Iredell swept the Warriors this year. Raiders are very good.

Read today that not only is North Iredell undefeated....They have yet to lose a game. Only undefeated 3A team in the state I think,

In my area 3A Powerhouse JF Webb from Oxford NC advances to the second round by sweeping Western Guilford 25-18, 25-11, 25-20. Webb is now 19-3 and will host Northern Guilford in the second round.

eastside, We actually played them as the second game of our season (Person Rockets) as part of our out of conference schedule. We beat them 3-1 and as far as I can remember they were very scrappy on defense and very solid on offense. I Think they may make it into the third round from the east bracket but may have to face powerhouse Triton down the road and that will be a big test for them. They are a solid well coached team and use to being in the playoffs.

The only active team I have is a grand daughter at country day middle school. My daughters all played volleyball and my grandson in San Diego plays...we try to see a lot of the good teams play....such a great sport and I hope this board continues to support the girls. Also, I do a little work that gets me paid for 'watching' many games.

CATV only has 2 teams in 3A #1 FTF; #2 Hickory

NPIED has five 1. N. Iredell #2 Lake Norman #3 S. Rowan #4 W. Iredell #5 Mooresville

Mooresville upset Enka on Saturday and will meet hickory at hickory tonight at 6.

Foard beat West Iredell in 3 and will play C. Catholic, the #1 seed in Queen City.

Anyone know how Mooresville upset Enka which is always a strong team? Is the NPIED conference that strong?

North Iredell didn't lose a GAME in the NPC.......Don't know if it speaks to how good they are or the conference was weak.....NO CLUE.

charlotte catholic over newton fred t foard ... 3-1

game 1: 25-15

game 3: 17-25
game 4: 25-22

catholic has relatively short team with a lot of hitting from the back row (#9, #14). had 2 jump servers ... neither one SHOULD have scored many points on those top spin and lolly pop serves.

i do NOT think i was watching the state 3A champs tonight ... hands pretty sloppy on both sides.

cost me $4 ...

btw - i liked the way foard #12 swings. definitely not afraid to hit the ball.

NCHSAA site says Mooresville lost to Hickory 3-1 tonight....still a decent showing for a lower seeded team this year from volleyball powerhouse NPC 3A.

For those of you who were wondering about Mooresville and their volleyball program, they are no strangers to the playoffs or trips to Raleigh. They recently won the NCHSAA 3A title in 2004. They lost in the Western Regional Finals to eventual state champs FT Foard in 2003 and 2005.....or that team probably would have won 3 state titles in a row. Also, Mooresville won the 2A title in 1993 and 1994. Long time coach Nancy Dilks guided those teams and is still one tough cookie. My daughter played for her from 2000-2003. Its good to see coach Higgins getting the job done these days for the Blue Devils. Good job ladies!

Anybody know anything about Reagan's team? They are the only team in North Iredell's half of the bracket that we haven't played this year.

We have South Rowan next and Lake Norman has Reagan.

They lost two...who beat them? Guessing a 4A in or around Winston-Salem.

Webb from oxford NC swept Rockingham last night 3-0, 25-15, 25-14, 27-25
Webb moves to 21-3 for the seaon and will face powerhouse TRITON 26-1 on Saturday night in Oxford. This will be a goodone I think! Webb has alot of playoff experience from the past.

Webb takes down powerhouse Triton 3-1 and Dh Conley defeats S Central 3-1. Dh Conley will face Webb for the East finals at Webb Tuesday night!

DH Conley Defeats Oxford Webb tonight 3-1 to advance to the 3A championship against N Iredell who defeated Hickory!

What's the scouting report on Conley? Anybody seen them play? Who beat them?

Warming up the buses...packing the bags....around Olin, NC. Very proud of our girls. BIG crowd tonight. Hope that many make the trip to Raleigh.

DHC is a member of the Coastal Conference, which includes JH Rose (2008 4A East Regional Champs) and 3A South Central. All of these teams are successful and highly competitive in their own right.

WHile DHC is "only" a 3A school, they compete in a split conference with 2, 4A teams... so they have to have game to compete. They are very well coached and aggressive.

Their only regular season loss of the year came from JH Rose, but defeated JH Rose in the rubber match. JH Rose went on to defeat Conley again, this time in the Conference Tourney.

Due to the split conference, Coastal has 2 teams as Eastern Regional Champions this year and both now vying for their respective State Titles.

Good luck! They are young, but very tuff (only graduating 1 Senior this year)

Norht Iredell finishes the season 26-0 and did not loose a set in the whole season! Awesome job ladies!!!!!!!!!!!

I was there and I will say Iredell looked sharp. They could do no wrong and kept DHC off balance the entire afternoon. They definaely man handled the Vikings.

Way to go Lady Raiders. 3A State Champs and completed the perfect season. Never dropped a set all year. Not sure if any team has done that before, but the best anybody will ever do is tie that record. Proud of the many fans who showed up to support Coach Tribble and the girls. Go Rowdy Raiders! GO HARD OR GO HOME.

Molly Rhyne named MVP but the whole team did their part and the seniors stepped up and pushed through when they needed it. The back row handled the ball well and set the table for the offense. Great net play as well.

Great group of girls, great coach, great fan support, great match, great day to be a Raider.

Final match for the seniors and while that is sad to think about....what a way to go out.
