Are most clubs tied to both AAU and JO in NC...or is it one or another? Just a little confused with that. Is one better for younger less experienced players?

viper05, AAU and JO's are seperate. And here in NC AAU is not that big if at all for volleyball. And thats because in my opinion JO's is so strong here. There are club teams in NC that play both. And most club teams that play AAU tournaments outside of NC are your National Travel teams, but not always the case. Any team can play in both AAU and JO's from here in NC. If you play JO's you have to be a member of the Carolina Region and to play AAU you have to be a member also.
For your less experienced players or younger players in my opinion do JO's here in NC until they are better and more experienced. If one truly has talent then try and make a national travel team because that is the best competiton and some of the best tournaments. Even if you play on a "regional" team here in NC try and get the coach to take the team to some of the close tournaments such as Richmond Va, Atlanta, Baltimore. The experience, level of competition, and tournament experience is great if you truly love the game! Our travel team does both JO's, AAU and other open tournaments.
Hope this helps.
