that's what i'm talking about.....lets hear about your team in the playoffs and how far they can go....my team didn't have the opportunity to make it that far.

so what, is this the only team represented on this board that made the state playoff's??????

i will try to post the progress from the big south conference which i know included forestview and kings mountain and north gaston.

jj, will you post about your favorite school north gaston?

ng is led by 8 seniors. carter thomas is one of the top lariello (sp) in the state
carolyn houser is the setter.
caroline clemmer and kinsey mcclure come off the bench
melissa lou is in the middle blocking
marissa, katie white, and halli are the outside hitters.

Olivia is an awesome player - and only a freshman cant wait to see her develop. Peanut (ashley almond) is a great setter in her own right
caroline houser is an outsider hitter/defender.
and i know im leaving some out but im not really that knowledgeable about the rules and roles so much :) but i have learned and enjoyed alot watching these girls. (senior group shot in the senior thread)

Thanks Carouselambra. It really is a tough conference and tomorrow will be a very tough match. But, we are very happy to have the chance to play. Here's hoping for a good match tomorrow! :cheers2:

ng defeated r-s central 3-0 (18, 11, 17)
lake norman beat east gaston 3-0 (not sure of game scores)

ng hosts winner of hickory-west henderson game tuesday at 6 or 7

Kings Mountain won in 5. St. Stephens is a great team. Depending on the outcome of the Enka - East Henderson game, KM will play away (Enka Win) or at home (E. Henderson Win). Go Lady Mounties!

rs just didnt hit very hard. after a week or so that included, lake norman (who beat east gaston today in 3) crest, km, and east gaston. just not as much digging.

McDowell beat West Meck 3-0 last night in the opening round. The Lady Titans will travel to Watauga Tuesday night to face an ol' NW4A foe.

Union Academy out of the Rocky River Con. opened it's first round playoffs with South Stanley form the Yakin Valley Con. It was a hard fought match with S. Stanley coming out on top 3-0. Congrats to both team and good luck to S. Stanley the rest of the way.

Also want to congratulate the UA Cardinals girls volleyball team for wonderful year, you guys had your ups-and-downs but you came through it better players, teammates, and most of all a better person. And to the seniors on the team good luck in whatever you want to do in life.

Patton (#1 from South Mountain Athletic Conference) defeated Crest (Big South #4) Saturday in straight sets. (25-14, 25-14, 26-24)

They will host Franklin High School on Tuesday.

Alexander Central defeated Olympic 3-1 on Saturday. Cougars travel to Asheville Tuesday to face AC Reynolds. Another old NW4A match up. Godd Luck ladies.

Saturday afternoon the North Meck Lady Vikings beat Butlers Lady Bulldogs 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-16).

Despite losing to the Lady Viking saturday, it wasn't because of lack of effort. I didn't get a Lady Bulldog roster but #3 was outstanding in the match.

all the NG girls had pink ribbons on their left shoes. all month they have been using pink pre-wrap to tie up their hair and a couple put it on their wrists.

4A West Region 2nd Round: Watauga beats McDowell 3-1...

Even in a loss it was a great season for the Lady Titans (18-8) and head coach Stephanie Pace. She took a 2-17 team last year, cleaned the slate and played as many as 5 or 6 sophomores and made them immediately very competitive. She should be a no-brainer for MAC Coach of the Year, I just hope she isn't overlooked just because McDowell didn't win the conf.

For a program that hasn't always been solid...next year's team will come with expectations.

what are the "must see" west matches in the next round?

was looking at 4A west ... myers park - mount tabor looks interesting.

was providence over grimsley a surprise?

in 3A west ... would expect west iredell - weddington to be a good match.


what's entry cost for these tournament matches?

If you are looking to stay in the west: Watauga/Hopewell should be a good match as should the West Iredell/Weddington Match. In 3A the Hickory/Franklin match should be interesting as well as the C. Catholic/N. Iredell. I would say that providence upset Grimsley.

Most places charge $5, but some are charging 6. Don't know how they can do that.

JH Rose plays flat, but still flattens Richmond County.

Hoggard out of WIlmington next. Rose is now 22-0 on the season.

BTW $6 to get in out East. Pretty much going rate. Worth $6 if you enjoy volleyball to see Rose play.
Football, basketball and baseball playoffs will all be at least $6.

North Meck hosts Hopewell saturday in their fourth meeting of the year. North winning the I-Meck Conference 12-0 and Hopewell defeating North in the I-Meck Conference Tournament. Any North-Hopewell match up is a battle and this meeting won't disappoint. The winner will be one of the two West teams going to the NCHSAA 4A finals.

They play saturday, time yet to be determined. I'll post photos after I can edit them.

Great Job AK. Good luck at States. I guess no one thought you could do it. Zoe Bell is one of the best coaches in the state and really showing in her second year at AK.

A great match at North Meck last night (tuesday) with Ardrey Kell coming back after being down 2-1 in the match to advance to the state finals. Ardrey Kell looked great and they must be because I've watched North's Lady Vikings all year and I thought this was their year.
