Best local place to see a band?

Nothing. I have to drive an hour to Ziggy's to see a good show.

Haven't been to any of the newer clubs.

But I gotta go with the Double Door.

Its all about atmosphere.

Seems like tons of bands skip Charlotte. Anyone been to Amos' yet? They seem to get some of those national, but smaller acts.

Amos's is cool. I've seen Atheneum, Sponge, Everything, and the Breakfast Club there. Not bad.

Visualite for the kind of music I like, but its way too damn crowded.

They are too proud of their beer at Visualite. The Double Door is my personal favorite. Everybody says the Neighborhood Theatre is the best, but that's crap. People look at you funny when you stand up. I don't sit when I go to a show.

The Double Door is one of the things I miss most about Charlotte.

I took every girl I ever dated to the DD. If she didn't like it was a sure sign she wasn't for me. Next!

Double Door for ambiance. i once seen Eric Clapton over there. He had just finished a show at the Big dome and Muddy was playing at Nicks place.

Fat City is a pretty good place to catch some local bands. Just be careful what night you go or you may look seriously out of place.

Done that before. I think that was the first mutual "what the fuck" look I'd ever shared with so many people. It's all good, got up and jammed some later on.

if you liked the music at fat city, you should check out jb'z off sugar creek. a lot of the same types of music just minus the people w/ purple hair and dog collars.

Ziggys is hands down the best place to see local bands. Charlotte just doesn't support live music. I've seen alot of good bands in charlotte without much of a turnout. Ziggys is always packed.
