I guess that's the reason they ended up leaving -- people can't tell the difference between sucking and being a top team. The Hornets have the 2nd best record in the east. They've only lost 1 game at home (11-1). But you guys didn't want em cuz... um... why again?
Hornets do not suck dude! They are one of the top teams in the league.
Now if your talking about management I can understand.

You're afforded the luxury of looking at it from outside a Charlotte perspective. Shinnridge were assholes. You can only threaten to leave so many times before the fans give up on you. They alienated the fan base here. Fuck them. I'll always pull for the other team they are playing.

Now if your talking about management I can understand. He means Hornets as an organization... not the actual team

I'll always pull for the other team they are playing. not only the consistant threat, but the team CONSTANTLY changing yearly... players only staying here 2-3 years... as soon as a player becomes a fan favorite... BOOM... he's gone... and not only gone, but leaving and it looking like the management didn't even TRY to resign him... WHAT other team has ever lost 23 straight free agents... granted not ALL of them were All-Stars, but I think you get my point... the Hornets organization soured the community to their practices... had there been ANY way to keep the team and lose the owners I can garantee you that Charlotte would have tried even harder to keep the team
They certianly beat the hell out of the Lakers. I forgot how good Baron was even when his shot doesn't fall.
Kobe absolutely blew. He's as much to blame as the other scrubs. Not looking for his shot, not going after rebounds, no energy at all from the Lakers. If I were Shaq, I'd ask for half of his other 11 teammates pay.

I dunno, Brain. I think people believe that simply because everybody keeps saying it. You want Eddie Robinson back? He's been great for the Bulls. Brad Miller signed for more than the Hornets could offer simply to keep from having to sign with them -- besides, that's why they drafted Magloire. Ricky Davis is really playin some good ball, but he was part of the trade that got us Mash and PJ. You upset that we traded Mason? Or DC? People didn't like them when they were in Charlotte and are they now supposed to be fan favorites?
I'd love to see the list of 23 free agents that got away. My guess is all but 5 of them are worthless. I'll wager that pretty much every team is kicking itself over a couple of player signings here and there. It's part of the business.
No, this sounds like I hate Shinn and lemme see if I can find a real reason for it.
Yeah. They backed the wrong horse in LJ versus a stud center, mistake, but it was just the wrong horse. Other than that, can't say anything wrong about the FA moves.
I could give a fuck less about who Shinn fucked. Maybe that was Ridge's problem.
It seemed the Hornets got a team that could rival those early teams with Moster Mash and Baron, and by then Charlotte didn't care. They were a pretty good damn team last year.
Of course, I'd moved by then, so it don't really matter to me where they play.

Brad Hoover is a fan favorite... he's no where NEAR an All-Pro Fullback, but he's a fan favorite... and if the Panthers let go of 23 players with Hoover's fan apeal they'd turn against that management too... but currently the fans aren't mad at our management... just the fact we have ungodly bad luck overall

But c'mon, with a roster of 12 you've either got a couple of "fan favorite" nobodies or you've got a legit team that can compete. Other folks refer to the FA signing issues as the team being unwilling to field a winner, tho they seem to have gotten better each year for the last 5. More wins = less fans? Maybe you're on to something with this fan favorite thing. Maybe the new Charlotte team could get Dell Curry and Mugsy Bogues to play. Suit up Kurt Rambis and Larry Johnson, too. :)
Fans love Rudy. Unfortunately, Rudy usually gets his ass kicked and has his underwear hung on the school flag pole.

the charlotte situation was a situation where the ownership did not do all it could to put the best team on the floor even when the attendance records were being broken, a situation where bad luck occurred (LJ back injury, phills death, coleman), some questionable character flaws in a tight-vested community (this is the bible belt, after all), lieing about negotiations with other cities, whoring out the team, and spitting on the fans who supported the franchise for a good 12 out of the 14 seasons of the franchise. all these ingredients==fan apathy and bad blood.
