an inflamed spleen happens to be a classic sympton of mono....:(

If you are straight, how can you tell if your spleen is inflamed?

I'm not sure what being straight or gay has to do with your speen. It is an organ located on the upper left abdomen along the rib cage...It is part of your immune/lymph system and also does a lot for keeping hemoglobin (oxygen) in your blood by filtering out old blood cells....

beleive me, if it is inflamed, you'll know.

beats the hell out of me...while called the "kissing disease" you can get it from anywhere just like a cold, it is very contagous (sp)...

Boo, I had that back in high school from trying to reduce weight during wrestling season, as I have said before. Blood poisoning can result as well as mono. I was drained of energy but I don't remember pain. That might have been secondary to being so tired. I did not develop mono thankfully.

I had non infectious mono, and an enlarged spleen, but never experienced any pain. My lymph nodes in my neck swelled greatly and it looked like I was growing another head.

Yep, that's what happened to me when I got mono a few years ago. Neck swelled up so bad I couldn't turn my head. Weird.
