When the construction schedule is made for a project this big, don't they incorporate inclement weather into the schedule   ? Its hard to believe that damage from last July's rainy weather is just being found now . . They are missing out bigtime with the Continental Tire Bowl being in town this week; I'm sure they will get the 'Official Media Hotel' designation next year . . .

Late Februrary/early March is now the projected opening date for the new 700 room Convention Center hotel . . . Perhaps we should all head down there to help them out make this new opening date, what do you guys think :) ? ? ?

Opening of new WESTIN Convention Center Hotel is Delayed Again . . . Will it ever open  ? ? ? (http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/business/4810929.htm)

Bump .. . . . Couldn't WESTIN just allow folks to bring their sleeping bags with them and sleep on the floor that are close to being finished :) ? ? ? ?

Bump . . . Another article in today's fishwrap about the recent construction delays to the new Convention Center hotel . . . They are now reporting that the concrete deck for the light rail line needs to be redone; This may push back the opening of the trolley line back as well . . . Oh boy, where were the supervisor when the pour was taking place   . .

This is total BS! the city invested $16.7 million into the hotel and because of irresponsible JA Jones (the contractor), the city is forced to move conventioners that were booked in the westin into other city hotels. that doesnt reflect good on the city in the business sense.

anyway, the trolley stop being pushed back is a real downer- i'd have loved to see full-service trolley stops starting this summer- good job JA Jones.

hey sds- what streetside restaurant are they building in the front arcade of the westin?? i heard about some hotel-restaurant in the paper a few months back...

I heard what it was going to be called, but I can't remember . . . They might have the name for it over at the WESTIN web
site . . .
