I think you are confusing regular season NFL with the play-offs. In the NFL play-offs, the best team gets the easiest schedule. They earn that luxary in the regular season. Samething as the NCAA Tourney. The best team gets the easiest bracket. Same as Baseball, Tennis, Bowling, and Shuffle board.

At the same time, the worst team gets the toughest schedule in a play-off.
