I used to like Sheryl Crow, but after hearing her new release its the same old tunes... she does not seem to be improving.

Jewel - now she is cool... she seems to get better - anyone ever download or purchase the acoustic version of the old Rolling Stones tune she did - "Wild Horses" ?

I did. I enjoyed it. Emily was really good by her also.

Next to that horse, I feel inferior...

By the way, thank you Magnus for the tip on Emily, I finally got the song after sifting through teenage porn (another story).

That brings me some joy. It really does. There's a lot of weird shit out there in the world that I'll listen to and really like that I think a small percentage of the population would also. THe CDs I've made for people, I dunno, doesn't seem like too many get what I'm trying to put out there.

Sounds like we face the same dilema in that regard..

I'm still more of a Jewel fan, but favorite mistake was not bad... guess my main dissapointment with Ms. Crow is the 2 songs I have heard off her latest were pretty redundant in relation to previous tunes...

Edit - Its funny you should say that... when my wife first heard that song, she said I was her favorite mistake...

Just did another search on Jewel.. this time on Kaza...

"I'm leaving on a jet plane" Cool remake! Go ahead Jewel.

She has her own stuff and does one hell of a job on the remakes - you go girl.

some of her poetry was really interesting. The only thing I don't get is her cowboy. That's strange to me. But they're serious and that tends to override sense.

DirecTV had Jewel on in Concert as one of theose FREE shows. She is just so wonderful. I was all set to marry her right before I met my wife and things got a little side tracked.

But if your a really big fan of Jewel, buy the Wizard of Oz concert. It's a stage of stars, and Jewel plays Dorothy. Her version of Over the Rainbow will bring you to your knees. Ther's a few more stars like Tom Petty is the Scare Crow I think, it's been a longtime since I've seen it.

jewel will win this hands down

I Miss Your Touch

I miss your touch
all taciturn
like the slow migration of birds
nesting momentarily
upon my breast
then lifting
silver and quick--
sabotaging the landscape
with their absence

my skin silent without
their song
a thirsty pool of patient flesh
