Just got back from a Surprise Party for him.

Larry was supposed to show, but didn't....
Putt couldn't make it.....
QCH had previous plans that meant he had to go on a road trip.....
I forgot to ask builder *sorry builder*

If I forgot to ask anybody else, I'm sorry. I got 'charged' with recruiting board members by his wife b/c my sister is their mortgage broker. Most people here are out of town, so i stuck to in towners. I think I covered about everybody, but if I didn't, I'm sorry.

Anyway - I'm the only one from the board that showed, and he was surprised - and he'll be 30 next week.

So - there's the news.

Thanks to meatpile for all his help. Thanks to LarryD for coming and Putt for trying to come. It was a ton of fun. You know all my friends are getting old though because most had cut out by the time Larry got there. I drank until I vomitted last night for the first time in like five years. I know y'all are pround. I have vague recollections of humping some balloons on the floor until they popped.

BTW I was 100% surprised which is pretty rare for a surprise party I think. I had no idea.

thanks for the invite, sly. it was good getting to know yor wife. the cake was very lemony (a good thing) and the beer was nice and cold (a great thing).

the music was way cool, too. i've never been there, but it's my kind of place to hang out. shout outs to joe for putting it together.

did anyone know that sly's brother-in-law is a fireman? it's true. he's even got a card to prove it.

sly, i played softball against chuck, er, greg today. he wore his visor upside down again and my wife asked, "is that guy wearing a pirate hat?" we ended up losing to that nbc team. they've got a powerful lineup that we kept in check until the final inning. i did screw up my neck though. i'll have to see how it feels tomorrow.

we've got a couple of pictures or me, sly and a guy who looked just like chuck.

i didn't hump any baloons till they popped (and you also took your pants down for some woman's camera, remember that?) but...

* i did go into the womens bathroom with sly's wife to look at the decorations.

* told a girl that i was gay (i think sly did, and i just played along). turs out she's a professional babysitter. nice gal.

* yelled BANKS! at some guy i'd just met. then told him he could drink out of the keg.

* called putt, kakia, qch, my brother, and my friends vanessa and barry. i drink. i make calls. that's what i do. i just want everyone to be having a good time with me. actually, the qch story is funny/weird. i'll let him tell it though.

* visited alexis for the last time. i've got it all out of my system.

* before i even got to the bar last night, i put a dent in my trunk and broke my tail light when i backed into a small set of mailboxes at a stripmall. they put that thing in the parking lot, not up on the curb away from everyone. i was just backing up and POP!

sly, you wife gets mad props for setting that party up for you. i've done a couple of them and they are way hard to pull off, but very rewarding.

I know this is several years old but I have to ask. From reading this post, it sounds like you and sly were the only attendees at this "party". That isn't really a party, is it? Wouldn't that be a date?
