i could not tell from the article if they actually offered him the job, but he did turn down a second interview trip. as i have stated before, he has 7 years until he has full CMS retirement benefits, so do not look for him to skip town until somewhere around 2010. He will be 53 years old then...with plenty left in the tank.

I don't blame him. It's not like the same, if not better offers won't come around again.

tallahassee lincoln's coach also turned down this job a month or so ago. the valdosta's student population has changed a lot over the years, splitting the fan-base. it's become a "black" school and the old valdosta fans aren't exactly thrilled.

i have been preaching for a couple of years that TK is not leaving the area for more money until he gets his full retiremente benefits. hell, he turned down a lot more money from North Myrtle Beach several years ago...so there is no reason to believe that he is going anywhere for at least 7 years. after that, all bets are off.

Larry, it is interesting that you say that about Valdosta. Two of the three schools TK has been at were predominately black attended schools. as for the 'old' valdosta fans not being happy...you get them to where they are playing for state championships year in and year out and they will be more than satisfied.

State championships is what they all wont over there!
