the more fans, the better.

Here is my analysis on the McDowell/Vance regional final:

I would like to compare both McDowell and Vance.

1. Athleticism: tie, both Vance and McDowell has their competition pleading for air last night, infact Danielle Rodgers for Riverside could barely run the court in the 4th period. Hence, McDowell splitting the game wide open.

2. Speed: Advantage Vance, BUT, as good as speed is, if it's not in a controlled manner, it could kill you. (i.e Turnovers)

3. Defense: Advantage McDowell, Even with Vance being athletic, they showed spurts last night of not being that good on man-to-man defense, and on the boards.

4. Size: Advantage McDowell, this is also related to defense. Vance is a relatively small team, and could face problems on the boards against McDowell's interior.

5. Backcourt: tie, Both backcourts do a good job to moving the ball and taking good shots, neither team has a significant advantage over each other.

6. Post Play: tie, but quite honestly I'm giving benefit of a doubt to Vance. Last night, Kerri Metzker just didn't show much to impress me. She will likely be matched up with Erin May, and I see McDowell potentially exploiting that matchup.

Okay, here are the keys to tomorrow's game:

Vance: For Vance to win, they need to just keep doing what has brought them to this stage. But, I also think that Metzker needs to get more touches inside and try to draw fouls on McDowell's interior to negate McDowell's size advantage.

McDowell: McDowell can run with anybody, let that be known right now. But the thing that makes McDowell so good is that if they don't have an open lane to the hoop, they are patient and will work the ball around to find a good matchup. If McDowell will continue to be patient, they will be just fine. I also think that McDowell might sneak in a couple possessions of zone just to confuse Vance. I noticed last night when Northern Durham went zone, it took away the easy baskets that Vance got, and speaking of that, when McDowell is playing in man-to-man defense, do not allow the guards to Vance to have a free lane to drive inside and score. That is what killed Northern Durham last night.

Well, that's my opinion on the two teams, good luck to both Vance and McDowell tomorrow afternoon.
