Three years in the making and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. When you have a baby, work like a dog and try to spend as much time with the kids as possible, these things take time. But I have added 400-plus square feet of living space (good for when I sell).

I have two weeks to finish the bar (sides and top). Carpet is installed 3/21 and then I'll trim up the cabinets. A few pics.

Nice grid! Love the closets and cabinets...I'd give up a quarter of my bedroom if it could become a closet!

Be sure to relocate the bodies BEFORE you sell the place and move out.

everything: drywall, cabinets, and the ceramic tile behind the bar. Father-in-law and i did the wiring. The carpet won't be burber, just a regular short pile. walls are insulated with half-inch foam sheeting. I used two-by-fours for furring strips so's I could have flush-mounted electric outlets.

Yes. They're on either end of the bank of cabinet/closets and in each of the other corners of the room.

what about right front? I don't have a rear center, only right, left and center front and left and right rear and the sub. Guess I'm fucked 'cause I ain't taking the ceiling down.

I'm gonna put in a hammock behind the bar

Yeah. It'll be like a slingshot I can use to fire beers around the room.

how much has this cost so far? that's AWESOME. it's in your basement, right? i wish i had a basement to work in. if/when i want to expand, it's out back.

how did you start? did you get an architect to do the plans? have you deviated since the beginning?

So, when do we get to come visit? Looks like it'll be a good place for a TBR party. :D I'm up that way at least once a year. And I live in the boonies too.

It's cost about a grand and the carpet will cost another $1200. I think when all is said and done it will be about $2500 (that's without TV, tap system and other toys). I did the plans myself and about 99 percent of the work.

I only deviated once, and that's when the SI swimsuit issue came in the mail. what a mess.
