Fayettville 71st

Ive heard many things about 71st such as they have two goto players like N.Durham does, and South Meck does. How good are they really? Ive also heard that they dont play many teams that give them pressure like McDowell, Vance, or West Charlotte. Is Vance capable of beating them or vis versa???

I know this is late, wish I had seen this post before hand, but .....the only way to beat 71st is to put pressure on their guards....because once it goes into the low post, it's over. (As you all saw)

The teams that gave them the most trouble in Fayetteville, and one even beat em, were EE Smith, and Westover. Smith gave 71st it's only lost, and 71st scored wth 0.7 seconds left in a comeback to beat Westover by 2.

I guess I did over-estimate the talent of the girl teams in the QC.. The way some of you talked, Vance was supposed to bet em. But from what I've seen......If Vance is the best from the west....a lot of teams out west would face some tougher competition.

Vance is not the best from the west. Victory Christian, who beat E.E Smith in the N.C State summer team camp, and during the regular season at the Hard-D-hoops tourney, would definately give Fayetteville 71st a tough time, if not beat them.

how are you going to say Vance isnt the best in the West? Victory Christian goes 6 deep on a good day. On a good day for Vance they go 8 deep. 7 on a normal day. VCC has Buford whos is outstanding and really cant be stopped, and summerville is a good point guard but shes not great! Vance has Washington, Metzker, Coote, Holmes, Dawson, and Stywalt. Vance should have beat fayetteville 71st but didnt. Vance has two great shooters (dawson and coote) who didnt recieve the from vances selfish freshmen pg. Vance will beat VCC if they played them this year. But it doesnt even matter anymore because all thats over with. Vance might not have a squad next year. Ive overheard people talking about some Vance players quitting and not playing-and the most recent one ive heard is that 2 of Vances returning starters will be attending private school. I wont say what school, but believe me, whatever school it is, theyll have a great shooter and and inside out player. VCC doesnt even play schools that give them good comp. Charlotte Christian and Laurinburg Institute are the best teams that VCC has played all year. Have you ever seen Vance play??? Ive seen VCC play many of times and all they got is 1 main player. The smith girl is nothing compared to what ive seen in public schools. Now the Buford girl can ball. I cant wait to see her, Stywalt, and Coote (along with other outstanding players in the are: Fields-Salisbury, Hailey-Garinger) play this year in AAU where the real competition is.[/B] :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Actually, Victory Christian has played E.E Smith, Freedom, Asheville High, Myers Park, Carver, Laurinburg, Charlotte Christian, and will be playing in the Boo Williams tourney in April. And they go alot farther than 6 deep. Besides, Victory Christian beat Vance by 20+ in the team summer camp at N.C State.
