tell me what you know about Hopewell, I know they are the best team in NC, but do they have any weaknesses. I have only seen them play once and I was so impressed, not only with their battery but with their entire team.

When we played the Crushers(mostly hopewell)we jumped on them early with two slappers and speed. Aggressive hitters, not afraid to jump on the first couple pitches....ervin loves to work ahead as do most good pitchers, so create some runs early as they (hopewell) will. Play good defense as you know, they have speed and are smart, seasoned players on the offensive side of the game. Keep them off-balanced with an array of pitches or pitchers will help keep you in the game.

titanfan.......know you will comment on this reply.......we lost to them 4-1, regardless of what we tried but their speed cause us some problems too. Good luck and what time do you guys play on Saturday?

I have seen them play hs ball for years, both as hopewell and nmeck, and these young ladies have played together for soooo long ....... and I too are very impressed with them.In fact the best HS team ever to come out of NC and will stand for awhile. Good Luck and looking forward to seeing both of you competing.

Hey I can take it. Just like any other team, we have had our weak moments. One thing I've learned from coaching and playing, any team can be beat on any given day and we don't take anybody lightly. We do have a remarkable group, but nobody is unbeatable. They do know how to do the little things that makes them excell. Definately the best team I've ever been associated with, their chemistry is amazing. Forbush has built their own little dynasty, that's why we've been looking forward to playing them for a long time. Game time has been changed to 9:30. Come by the dugout and speak to us CFBall.

You are so right with your assessment, its important each team does the little things in order to be successful. I will drop by the dugout and good luck with CC on Friday! Do post the results of CC game as I have another committment that day........darnit and I am sure others will interested in knowing.

Just heard from my AD that Butler and Hopewell will not be playing a non-conf game this year either. This rain has GOT to stop. We are one conf game down already and looks like Fri will be a washout also. This is gonna be a very interesting season.

Same here Dawgfan. We are down 1 conference game also and we've only played 4 games. The only real good game we've played is Myers Park. We've rained out Butler, North Meck, the Forbush tournament and it looks like CCab. I hope this weather lets up soon. We're going to the Wendy's Invitational in April, we sure could use some good games before then. I don't know about everybody else but our girls are sooooooo sick of practice and ready to PLAY BALL! Hopefully we can get the Forbush game in on Sat. at the Clash.

Oh, and I hate we didn't get to play you guys. I guess it's just not meant to be, we had the same problem last year. Maybe we'll see you in post-season play. Good Luck!

We lost one conf game Monday and It looks like we will lose fridays against Olympic also. Your right about the girls getting tired of practice, so are the coaches. Its either out in the mud near the field or in the gym. we have only played four games also and no conf so far. I hope its not like a few years ago (1998 I think ) where they canceled the conf tournaments to finish the regular season. well good luck, so far the hardest part of the season has been to keep thr girls spirits up and find new drills and ways to practice with no infield.

CFBALL,

Thanks for the insight. Jumping on them early is alot easier said than done. We have already lost 3 games to the weather so we are going into Saturday having only played 2 games. That should make things pretty interesting, we are hoping to just be able to compete..... Come by the dugout on Saturday, I will be the one with the worried look on my face.

If it makes you feel any better, we're in the same BOAT. We've only gotten in 4 games and only 2 of them were decent games. It has been so hard keeping the girls pumped up because they want to play so bad and are sick of throwing around in the gym. So it should be fun on Sat. Hope the rain lets up before then. See ya there.
