Yes, I know, I can't believe it either, but I am thinking about trying a modified Atkin's and I wanna hear some tips.

Can you have....

Chicken?
Tuna?
peanut butter?
diet sodas?
any veggies?
mayo?
eggs?

Can you have....

Chicken? Yes
Tuna? Yes
peanut butter? No, it is made from nuts
diet sodas? Yes, although they do say you should decrease your input of caffeine. Diet soda has NO carbs in it.
any veggies? Not all...green beans, spinach - those that aren't "sugar" veggies such as corn and tomatoes
mayo? Real only
eggs? Yep

But nuts are OK in moderation. Peanut butter is a no-no because of sugar.

during the first 14 days no diet drinks at all no sugar drinks at all no caffene, no booze, no peanut butter. all the other stuff on your list is ok. Oh Yeah no soy or other legumes at all, no nuts. After the first stage you can work low carb stuff like nuts and legumes into your diet.

I'm not going on full Atkin's. I'm just gonna try low carbs and increase the protiens and fats and go work out more. :(

Why can't you eat eggs for breakfast?

Breakfast was always easiest for me: eggs, bacon, sausage. All in moderation, of course. Atkins doesn't say 'eat 5 pounds of bacon a day'.

Fred...the main thing is to cut out all your extra sugar from tea, to sodas, to coffee. Also, stay away from naturally sweet fruits and veggies. Stop eating WHITE bread or processed flour goods. No more Ritz and p-nut butter at 2am after the bar. No beer. No schnaps. You'll be edgy for a few days after cutting out all your sugar, but it won't take long before you realize you have more energy than before. I did it and lost 55-60lbs in a year.
