hey guys...i was in attendance at this game. i had seen Millwood pitch several times when i was living in Atlanta, but his stuff yesterday was electric. tons of movement on his fastball and his off-speed stuff had the giants off balance all day. only about 4 hard hit balls all day and one of them was foul.
watched Andy Benes take a no-no into the ninth in atlanta in '97. but this was special...now if i can just catch a perfecto...

Millwood got traded to Philadelphia for a backup catcher (Estrada) who has played in 4 games this year, 4 at bats and a sizzling .250 average

This tells you everything concerning the Millwood trade Bling Bling (http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stark_jayson/1545472.html)
Estrada really isn't that bad of a pickup considering that Lopez is a free agent at the end of the year. I know it wasn't what you'd like to get in return for a player like Millwood, but w/ the economics the way they are in baseball right now I'm sure we'll be seeing more lopsided moves just like this one over the next few years. But Estrada is also a hometown guy that is living in Salisbury and used to play for the Piedmont Boll Weevils so give him some support!!

But I am damn sure we could have gotten a little more for him. Trade your younger talent and keep one of the older guys that may have 2 or 3 more years tops and that is being nice.
Got a story for this one....
I rarely watch baseball anymore. It just makes me snooze. But I actually saw the last half of this game - from a bar in Philly. It was kind of a slow day inside the bar since the weather was so nice, but the hometown fans that were there eating were pretty happy about it. It was - dare I say? - fun watching baseball on Sunday.
Also, it amazed me that we were stuck in traffic coming into Philly even though it was after 1:00. A bunch of folks missed out on the first few innings apparently. :)
