I like the fact they are letting the teams go to more intense team workouts although not full fledged spring ball.

I always thought that was one of the reasons the SEC was stronger than the ACC and North Carolina was regarded as a weaker state in terms of football. I think in a few years they will go to full contact spring practice. Coaches will have their foot in the door and will keep pushing until they get what they want.

That's one area where SC had NC. Kind of levels the playing field a little.

I think Floyd hit the nail on the head but I would like to go one further. Not only is there AAU basketball, there is AAU and USSSA baseball, JO volleyball...I'll continue soccer, swimming, tennis, did I leave anything out? Its hard to be competitive these days if your student athletes in these sports are'nt getting specialized training via these outlets. There is NOTHING out there for football players other than camps and a FEW select type leagues that travel around. Smart move.

The problem i see down the road would be where the football coach has pressure on the baseball player .
Are there rules to keep this from happening ?
