Any generation, who everytime they threw or throw the ball makes you wish you could take a swing at one?

Nolan Ryan. Saw one of his no-hitters the other day on ESPN classics. And who was the Astros pitcher back in the late 70's, J.R. Richards? I would have liked to take a swing at one of his fastballs.

Randy Johnson!!

Okay, so I would never want to take a swing at any of his pitches, but he's definitely my favorite.

How about Hoyt Wilhelm or one of the Niekros? It be cool to stand in against a major league knuckleball.

WilliamJ

Phil Neikro would be cool.

How about a big side arm guy like Burt Blyleven?

you talking sidearm, you're talking kent tekulve or dan quisenberry. what about gene garber, didn't he side wing it?

maybe luis tiant. or a frernando curve ball. knucksie would be a adventure. gaylord perry and the spitter.

williamj, what are the chances of you dropping dental building and concentrating on a knuckle ball pitch? you'd be perfect. knucklers can pitch on into there forties, so we got about 5 years to go with. what do you say? ya in?

WilliamJ

that gives me 6 years....should i throw lefty? that'd be the real knuckler.

barely over 5'10" and he's still able to throw absolute gas. hits 98 and 99 regularly

retired--Nolan Ryan. I'm thankful his career lasted as long as it did so I could watch him.

current--Barry Zito. He makes it look so easy.

I saw the scariest thing happen to him...I was at a D'backs vs Astros game a few years ago, 2000 I think. One of the d'backs hit a line drive at Wagner, hit him right between the eyes. He went down and was just laying on the ground not moving for the longest time...it was horrible. The whole park was absolutely silent. Luckily he ended up being alright. Scary stuff though.

Charlie Liebrandt. I assume you're not a Braves fan. Any Braves fan from the early 90's will tell you, that the thought of that guy pitching makes us sick to our stomach.
:barf:

Wait, on second thought, yeah, I'd like to face him. :D
