I read an article detailing why muscles fail and when during weight lifting and what you can do to offset the failure....failures are caused by lactic acid and some other substances depending upon which set and how many reps.
Anyways, it said that people with low carb diet will fail because of a buildup of chemical A (don't recall the actual name) and to offset that, you can take sodium carbonate which is baking soda. So I figured I'd give it a whirl. Baking soda will basically do what creatine does for the carbohydrate consuming world.
I can say it worked, I was substantially stronger...however, the key word in 'sodium carbonate' is 'sodium.' I ballooned up like the guy in my avatar. right now my lips are cracking they are so dry....baking soda seems to have a powerful laxative effect too.
I took too much. I couldn't remember if the directions in the article said teaspoons or table spoons and how many to consume.
my ears had a funny buzzing sound all night too.
i thought baking soda was sodium BIcarbonate.
yep...that's what I meant
hey boo...are you downtown? If so can I come laugh at you?

I'm more into body building than strength. I read it in Muscle and Fitness...either the latest one or the one before that...hot blond girl on the cover. It was actually a very good article if you are interested in that type of thing.
