Has to be one of the best/worst things about baseball. Ten years ago it was an event to see someone charge the mound, now a pitcher doesn't even have to hit someone and they can get charged.

Best charge ever........Robin Ventura charging Nolan Ryan, Ryan showed why you don't charge a 40 year old rancher from Texas.

Worst charge ever.....Reggie Sanders charging Pedro Martinez, Pedro had a perfect game going in the 8th and he hit Sanders...get a clue Reggie you're not worth breaking up a perfect game for.

I love an occasional brawl in a game, but the hitter needs to just charge the mound (like Piazza did to Mota) insead of giving that long pause before going out.

My favorite is definitely when Gerald Williams knocked Pedro on his ass during a Devil Rays-Red Sox gae.

I just wish the batters would realize the pitchers have just as much right to pitch inside. The batters lay across the plate and grip when they get plunked  Want the outside corner? Swing into it not lay over it

exactly! as a former pitcher, i hate seeing batters crowd the plate, then get all upset when they get plunked. i also hate the way batters cant get it thru their thick steroid filled skulls that sometimes pitchers hit them ON ACCIDENT. just because you get hit, it doesnt mean it was on purpose. i hate seeing batters stare down a pitcher after getting hit when it was in a situation where its obvious that the pitcher didnt want to hit the batter

I really know very little about baseball so I must ask this question. Does a walk not ruin a perfect game and isn't a plunk comparable to a walk?

I agree, I know the ball is moving fast, but I do think more often than not, they can get out of the way if they really tried. Most dont even try anymore. I was glad to see someone (can't remember who) get hit, and the ump told him 2 stay b/c he didn't try to move.

I pitched a few games in high school, I never hit anyone on purpose......that said I never had a guy with an 2 foot piece of armor on his elbow hanging it halfway over the plate daring me to throw a strike either.....so I understand the pitchers point of view. Taking nothing away from his ability as a hitter Barry Bonds wouldn't have hit 73 home runs a few years back if pitchers would keep him from hanging over the plate, he wouldn't walk as much either. Any one see Mark Prior nail his ass with a fastball and dare him to come start some shit??? Classic.

prior did exactly what he needed to do.....no better time than early in your career to let the hitters know that the inside half of that plate is YOURS
