View Full Version : For yall Bosox fans...
Enjoy your new pitcher, Mr. Byung Hyun Kim. And thanks for the 3rd baseman!
Kim is actually quite effective in the pen, hasn't done so well as a starter though. His style is one of a kind, quite entertaining!

oh no, you didn't.....i was just reading up on this, and that explains the tear.
i just don't understand it all. i mean, now kim can get lit up by the yankees several times a year rather than wait till the series
oh well, boston was never accused of hanging on to the great talent. well except for babe. oh wait. ANYONE NOTICE A PATTERN??

:D Have fun!! :)
D'Backs got a steal. Hillenbrand only makes $400,000 a year and is signed until 2006. He might the bargain in all professional sports.

well i for one am starting to wish they would have went ahead and thrown fossum in on the hillenbrand/colon trade...only that held it up supposedly. they said the future is bright for this kid is the reason they didn't. but he sure hasn't shown anything worthy of that yet.

sorry. nah, casey fossum. young lefty starter that is getting lit up this year. supposedly boston didn't want to throw him in on the proposed trade of hillenbrand for bartolo colon. only thing that stopped the deal

Hillenbrand would have faded down the stretch anyway but he is a bargain for the amount of money he makes. Boston really needs a closer which is where Kim is likely going to end up when Pedro gets healthy again. Seems like a good even deal for both sides.

I am a Sox fan and I honestly don't know what to think of this trade. I liked Hillenbrand, but he definitely didn't buy into Epstein's philosophy, Mueller is red hot, and they have like 43 guys who can play 3rd base. Kim has pitched well, even though he doesn't have a good record, and I think that if they can convince him to be a reliever then this is a good deal for the Sox. The problem is that Kim thinks that being a reliever means that you are not good enough to start - because that is what it means in Korea - so he may be reluctant to go back to the pen. Also, Fossum will be fine. The bottom line is that the Red Sox needed pitching and you have to give up something to get something in return.

i'll agree to that. getting him back in the pen and having him be happy with it, thats what they have to do. oh yeah, and lets just bench him with a "sore arm" when playing the yankees...please
and hillenbrand at 400k/yr.......you're right, that is one helluva deal
hillenbrand soaked up 59 faab dollars in my nl only league. thats pretty steep.
