Actually looking forward to this series. Maddux vs Hudson tonight in Oakland. I wonder if Oakland's pitching can stop the power that Atlanta has been bringing lately?

thoughts, opinions welcome....

it'll be a great series, especially since it'll be strength vs. strength...a great pitching staff going up against the hottest hitting team around. They always say good pitching beats good hitting, so I guess we'll see. I'll definitely be watching. The west coast start times make it iffy seeing the whole game though. Sheffield and Giles have renewed my interest in baseball this year, it's just amazing watching Sheff swing the bat. I've never noticed anyone with that kind of bat speed.

Javy Lopez - 5 homers in 3 games.. unreal. Especially when he hasn't done jack-diddly-crap for about two or three years now. I'm a little worried about tonight - Maddux has been so inconsistent this year, so who knows which will show up: Master of Control Maddux, or Batting Practice Maddux. I say Atlanta takes 2 of 3, based on power alone. If the bats die, Oakland probably sweeps.

no joke...

.420 something avg, 14 homers last 19 games.....all from the 7 or 8 spot in the lineup. that says it all about the teams hitting.

as far as the series with oakland, i'll be watching. after all, i made the prediction the other day that these two will meet again in the Series. should be a good preview, and i'm still sticking with those 2.

hey, if we beat ourselves up every time one of "our own" beat us or hurt us somehow, we'd look like a tied-up goat. man that farm system has put some talent into the majors.

Braves take the last two, 11-6 and 4-2. The bats have come alive! Shane Reynolds pitched a masterpiece today as well.
