What the fuck is up with this statement?

"Neuheisel brought a private attorney to the meeting but stormed out after being told his outside legal counsel represented a conflict of interest."

I would have left too. I think it is pretty obvious they were going to try to railroad himand didn't want his lawyer there to keep them from doing it.

I think that this is bullshit. Theguy from the NCAA said that no gambling is allowed by any coaches, etc. Does that mean that they couldnt go to Vegas either - or is it just sports betting? I think the NCAA is about to legislate its way into irrelevance. I know that California has either passed or is thinking about passing a law that requires its schools to disobey the NCAA if their bylaws are oenerous (or something like that). I am guessing that this is probably the first step into CA paying its athletes.

My biggest fear is that somebody will come a callin' after this year if we have a good year.

At least they're well-muscled tits.

I'll bet Mike Price is at the top of Washington's list.

Strippers are ok, but don't play the basketball pool...

Was little Ricky banging the school President's daughter/dog/wife or what?

This is the thing right here. Rick's been one step ahead of the posse at the NCAA offices for years. If he wasn't already known as "Slick Rick", he'd probably have survived this silly pool thing.

Somebody is gonna get a nice job. Washington is loaded for next season especially on offense.

That's the rule in the NFL too. No gambling. The players and coaches can't even associate with known gamblers. Remember when they made Joe Namath give up his Bachelor III clubs?

They've made it work for years and years. If soemone starts gambling, they WILL gamble on their own sport. Then you have the appearance, or even the reality, of thrown games.

Now the NFL does not have a 1 strike and you're out policy. They do warnings, etc.

Neuheisel knew the rules. Asking someone of lesser authority is no excuse.

I'd agree there. And a great fit, too. None of these guys are gonna O'Leary themselves out of football - he only got another chance because he coached Tice. Now, as DC, he'll help run the Vikings into the ground and the whole lot of them will be jobless.

Price, Neuheisel are damn good coaches. If either could get into a probably-declining program with an older coach, like PSU or FSU, it'd be dominance. Either that or we'll have some really good commentary on ESPN this year, since it's the safe haven for fired coaches.
