6 pitchers combine to no-hit the Yanks at the Babe's place...first no-no on the Yanks since 1958....MLB record with 6 pitchers combining....Is something wrong with the Bronx Bombers?

Torre and his staff should be a little worried about their jobs right about now.

‘‘It really can’t get worse than it was today,’’ said Derek Jeter, the newly appointed team captain. ‘‘We’re getting a taste of our own medicine. This is what we’ve been doing to teams throughout the years. . . . It doesn’t feel good.’’
Jeter said he’d never seen manager Joe Torre ‘‘more upset’’ than he was during a long postgame team meeting. Jeter added he opted not to take a turn speaking because ‘‘they’re all grown men in here. If they’re not embarrassed by what happened tonight, there’s something wrong with them.’’
It’s hard to believe the Yankees were in first place when the night started, but they’re well aware their hitting has been anemic - never more so than it was Wednesday night - and their bullpen has been a sieve.
‘‘It was awful. It was ugly,’’ Jorge Posada said. ‘‘We have to turn it around. Tonight was a perfect example of everything that’s been going on this year.’’
Said Jason Giambi: ‘‘We need to start turning it around or we’re going to find ourselves 10 games back. We have to fight through and hold on until we get Bernie (Williams) and Nick (Johnson) back (from the DL). We can’t expect to play this kind of baseball and stay at the top of the list much longer.’’

I hate the Yankees. I hate Steinbrenner even more. Joe Torre is a good guy though.

With Pedro coming back last night and the Sox bats heating up, the Yanks could be in trouble.

Big Stein is getting angry.

Torre is a good guy in a strangely impossible situation. He absolutely can't have a down year at any point. I don't think The Boss would care if the entire team was hurt.

As much as I like and respect Joe Torre - and even Brian Cashman - I hope that they both get fired so that Steinbrenner starts to make stupid moves like he did inn the early 80's when they really sucked. That would make me very happy.
