Never missed a show. I got kinda pissed last week when Jill (? the wife) got amnesia. Last night was redemption tho. Pretty good. Kim is a hottie.

My wife is addicted. That and CSI. Now with the DVR, whatever she likes, she records for me. I've seen 2 shows, it's ok I guess.

Absolutely. Although my wife did fall asleep last night. She has a good reason, though.

I have seen each show. Pretty good twist when Palmer busted his wife about the tape. I thought he was gonna smack her.

McFly41
04-03-02, 01:18 PM
He should have dropped her ass. She's been fucking with him at every turn! Now she'll just do something else stupid.
Looks like Mrs. Bauer is dead next week? That wouldn't play to a happy ending, though.

Ever get the feeling you were being watched?

04-03-02, 04:01 PM
I've seen almost every show. If you miss one, you can watch it on FX at 10:00 on Thursdays. Has anyone noticed how the women on the show can't keep their shit together?

04-03-02, 08:44 PM
Yeah, I'm really getting annoyed with the women on this show. I mean, Palmer's wife screws him over (but, politicians don't leave their wives in the middle of a good campaign-- so don't look for it). Teri has amnesia-- but go back a couple of shows and what the hell was she doing driving out to the back roads when every person knows that you stay IN TOWN if you don't want shit to happen. And now Kim has just pissed me off from the start. Yeah, 16 year olds are stupid-- but, really, give up on your kidnapper. Rick is NOT going to take you to the prom. You are one of the most developed girls in your class and you are dumb-- guys would probably line up for you. Oh, and let's not forget the dumb girl who stabbed their link to the rest of the operation!! I can understand her having an affair and then getting pissed. I don't get why she stabbed him. Nina seemed okay, but we learn this week that she's just a fuck freak who is going through the department.

So, while I am addicted to this show and I'm in it until the end-- I often wonder what the writers have against women! Honestly, we are not all as stupid as the ones on this show! I need to read the credits to see if they even have any women writing for the show because they have us behaving so irrationally that it must be men writing it!!!

LarryD
04-03-02, 09:03 PM
so, it's obvious that there's another dirty agent inside ctu, right?

well, who is it?

nena? tony? mason? the black lady who was trying to take jack's job?

has anyone thought about the writing involved here (outside of the women being whacked out and acting overly irrational -- except super-cool nena)? what i'm thinking of is way back in the first episode how it started out with jack and kim playing chess -- well, that's what the show seems to have evolved into, a long chess match.

i expected a seat-of-your-pants ride with each episode, but it's turned into an evolving game where pieces are knocked off, one at a time (and sometimes, it seems, just for the heck of it). who is next?

i can excuse some plot flaws along the way, it is tv afterall (where are you twin peaks?) but they had better clean it up or i'll have to lower my expectations.

i can't wait for when dennis hopper (CHAMPION!) and lou diamond phillips (where has HE been?) join the cast for the final five episodes. sure to be lots more twists upcoming.

oh, so who is dirty?

news story: looks like 24 has a 75% chance of returning next season (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2002/04/03/DD134945.DTL)

I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the original data disk. Jack switched them, then...what?

04-03-02, 11:52 PM
I think the new CTU bureau chief is a little shady-- he'd be my guess for the rat.

What are they coming back next year for? I think this is a one-season thing. I mean, this is "the longest day of my life" for Jack. How many bad days can the guy have? Unless-- maybe he could quit, sign up for a chat room, and watch random girls all day in the hope that they'll get naked. OR, he could work for a Waffle House 24-hour shift and show all the freaks. That might be fun. But, I don't think anyone could handle another day like this. I don't even think I'd watch another day like this one!

McFly41
04-04-02, 12:23 AM
The CTU chief is suspect, and what about the CTU snipper from last nights episode? He seems to have it in for Jack?
I have a feeling that this character was added for a plot twist. He and Jack will talk and he'll get with the team and help out OR he'll try to take a crack at Jack like he appeared to be considering last night?

04-04-02, 12:25 AM
Oooo, good point!!! My guess is that the CTU chief is working with the sniper and chief will be PISSED that the dude blew the chance yesterday just by being a braggart!!! Good one!

mathmajors
04-23-02, 10:27 PM
After seeing tonight's episode, it seems likely that the mole in CTU is Tony, except for the fact that he killed the bad guys at the Bauer home. If it's not him, it's Chappelle.

Ah, hell. I don't know who it is anymore than I did 3 episodes ago.

LarryD
04-24-02, 07:04 AM
nope. and kim getting snatched again was too predictable. it was so happy there right at the end.

wossa
04-24-02, 11:17 AM
Why did "Diamond Lou" sign up for a bit part as a "pussy" agent that just gets a bullet after five minutes of face time? ( I guess that stoopid "wolf" show he did last year really put his career in a tail spin  )

Why did Jack give up his gun last night "knowing" that he was giving up Drazen and that they would kill the other dude anyway?

I am really getting tired of the "whiny wife" and the whole story line with the Senator is getting old too. It seems like they didn't know where to take this thing. Unless somebody on his team is hooked up with the killers.

The mole in CTU has to be Nina. They keep trying to push it towards Tony or Chapelle - too obvious. In the end it is going to be Nina that breaks bad and turns out to be EVIL - the show is going to need some serious plot turns in the last few episodes.

HPCatFan
04-24-02, 12:44 PM
Yep, when Kim called her mom I knew something would happen. Nena as the last mole would be the shocker, others are too obvious: Tony or Chapelle or the guy at CTU running things now(can't remember his name).
The Senator needs to go yes, the threat is over, they should focus on Jack and his deal now.
Dennis Hopper, cool as he is, puts on a horrible Czech accent.

mathmajors
04-24-02, 02:14 PM
Nina does kinda make sense. She had a chance to tell someone after Jack's wife told her.

It also would explain why Nina left the safe house in the first place.

It wouldn't explain how she could interrogate Jamie like she did, unless Jamie didn't know someone else from CTU was involved.

I still want to know what happened to the original data disk.

This is from an article on the new Fox season this fall:

"Good news for 24 fans: The acclaimed thriller will return in its current serialized format and its same time slot."

This better NOT fucking mean that we don't get to the end of the story next week, or I'll start a riot.

there will not be an end tonight.

Think about it.

The show is going to a another season.

To just start with a brand new story line - new day - totally different shit - just won't work

Next Season will be day two - it may take on new characters, new plot twists, new conspiracies - but it will be connected somehow - and tonight will end with some kind of cliff hanger to get you back for next year.

if they don't do it that way somebody is fucken up

It will end. Jack has to sleep sometime. The next season will be Keifer on the couch watching the New Orleans Hornets get their ass kicked.

So next year's show is set now.

One day in the life of Jack interrogating Nina and trying to get revenge on whoever it is she really works for.

I have no problem with them killing off the wife. There were way too many whiny women on the show anyway.

They probably killed her off so Jack could be a swingin' single.

I figure once they got the green light for another year, they must have rewritten some of this episode to make a tie in for Jack to avenge his wifes death. This episode was okay, but it did seem upfair to off Jacks wife after all she had been thru. Why couldn't they off Palmers wife also.

HPCatFan
05-22-02, 08:20 AM
Definitely should have killed Palmers wife vs. Teri. God, what a bitch. Think they used Hillary as a model for that character:rolleyes:

OK show, at least we got to the end of Dragen (?) and I guess the Senator is out of the presidential race. Too bad about Teri, I was kind of surprised tho. Good setup for next season too. I'll give it a B+. Now I don't have to go off today

LarryD
05-22-02, 08:25 AM

Hey, I'm trying to not be critical since I always seem to be. So, i thought it was a great series. It ended on a sour note, but it leaves a whole lot of material for the second season to go on. I've been blown away by this series and I can't wait till fall to see it all again. i hope they have a 24 DVD I can buy with the whole 1st season on it.

Just finished up season 1 of 24 and watched the alternate ending where Terry lived. Would have taken away from this season if they had made the dec. to go with that ending. Just goes to show you never know what can happen on this show. I have even heard a rumor that Jack may get killed this season. Could they get away with it.

I don't think they could get away with it unless they bring someone else to the forefront.

No way they could pull it off. It's a superb show, but Jack makes it my opinion. They'd have a very tough time trying to find someone to effectively replace Kiefer Sutherland. I hate that I didn't get on the 24 bandwagon until this season. Last week's was the best episode I've yet to see. Can't wait until tomorrow night.
