OK, I don't want anybody getting mad at JB, so I'll take the heat.

Kakia, when Dale Earnhardht died, they posted a link to RnR1 for people to discuss his death on Charlotte.com. Since we didn't have a Nascar forum, they took up RnR. Big mistake. There were hundreds of Dale mourners in there and we made fun of them. They started a thread "just post 3" and we started about 50 different threads making fun of this particular thread. It has been a running joke for quite some time. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Best I can recall, no one was making fun of Dale or the way he died. They (and now we) were making fun of the hundereds of people who never posted on the board who registered just to put "3" on a post. I mean, you've got to admit, there were a LOT of people who were EXTREMELY over sentimental about the whole thing. To this day, when someone puts "3" on a post, it means, "damn, we're getting to serious about this whole thing"... at least that's the way i read/intend it.

Silver, I'm with Big Mark. I was upset when Dale died, but some people were just flat out nuts about it. They were breaking into his funeral, buying up all his merchandise casue they thought it would be worth more later, and the three people were just rediculous. I guess that's how I'll be when Dean Smith dies, but right now I can make fun of them. No disrespect to the Intimidator.
