View Full Version : I didn't realize it before but the ACC forced Miami's hand

I got to thinking... Miami said they are going to have to "think about it" and make a decision now that its Miami and VT and NOT Miami, Syracuse and BC like originally thought, but Miami has no choice but to join the ACC now. Miami was going to leave the Big East for 2 primary reasons. Reason #1: The lack of a football championship. Well even though there aren't 12 teams yet the ACC is one team shy and there are still rumors swirling that another team will be joining. Everyone has seen the names Notre Dame, Louisville, West Virginia, and more already mentioned, but at this point neither conference has this. Reason #2: This is why Miami HAS to go. MONEY. If Miami wasn't breaking even in the Big East before there's NO way they will be close to making money if you pull the other Top 10 (in the nation) football school out of their conference. VT has the talent to play in a BCS Bowl, possibly for the nation championship. That's VERY big money. You take that away for the Big East and every school loses a chunk of coin. Even if they can replace VT with a Louisville there will be MUCH less money because the lack of that bowl berth. Now Miami makes less money if they STAY in the Big East. The ACC provides closer competition, a more even split of the pie, and a betterr possibility of a future Conference Championship. There is no choice anymore. The decision monday will be obvious.

they need to jsut do it already. It's not that damn interesting to see it be newsworthy every single day and yet see nothing happen .

The ACC will get 2 now and take their time on the third. Plenty of candidates even if ND doesn't come in.
