and won't let go. Everytime I start IE it makes Globesearch my homepage (don't go there--it might grab hold of you too). I change my homepage to yahoo and it stays changed until I reboot and then -- bam! there's Globesearch again.
I have searched my C: drive using the Window's find function and cannot find a file called Globesearch. What do I have to do to get this monkey off my cyber back?? Whhhaaaaaaaa!!!

Are you changing your homepage via the 'Internet Options' utililty in IE or is there somewhere on Yahoo's site that will change it for you? If you know how to change it, that might be the way to go. Sometimes browser scripts won't overwrite previous settings.

Heh heh. You shouldnt of been looking at pr0n. Anyway look at the bottom of the page (Globesearch). There SHOULD be a option that says "remove Globesearch as my start page" or something along that line. It happened to me around 6th months ago. Took me forever to figure out how to get that sumbitch off. Hope I helped.

Actually, before I got your reply, I got so frustrated that I installed Windows XP from a backup diskette from another computer. It also installed a new version of IE, so that fixed my problem.
Now I've got a bigger problem because the XP is only good for 30 days. What is it gonna do, self destruct or something? I guess I'll just copy what data files I can and run a system restore on my computer. It IS a mess, but it's worth it!
If I got Globesearch from looking at porn, it was from a link in the Cafe (which I've only been into like four times). See, I KNEW if I went in there I'd come out with an STD. I think I'll stick to R&R from now on--I'm scared of the Cafe. :scared2:
Anyway, thanks a bunch for your help. If I get kidnapped again, I'll have some additional knowledge to help me out of it.
