Skip Caray and Pete Van Wieren are going back on TBS.
Turner Sports has decided to reverse its controversial decision of several months ago and reinstate the longtime Braves broadcasters to the team's telecasts on TBS Superstation, company officials said Monday.
Caray and Van Wieren will return to the TBS booth after the baseball All-Star break next week.
Caray, Van Wieren and fellow announcers Don Sutton and Joe Simpson were informed of the decision this morning in a meeting with Turner Sports president David Levy in New York. All four broadcasters will appear equally on the TBS games after the All-Star break, similar to past seasons.
Caray and Van Wieren, Braves broadcasters since 1976, were removed from the TBS booth in March as part of an effort by the company to make the 90 games broadcast nationally more "neutral" and less Braves-oriented. They have been working games on radio and the regional Turner South network this season, while Sutton and Simpson have handled the TBS games.
:) :) :D :D ;) :) :D
