Trio-o-plex Bars

Well for a meal replacement bar, high in protein - these things are pretty tasty. Net carb count of 9. 30g of Protein.

Do you have a favorite?

Meso-Tech has some good ones. Tuna's cheaper though. Throw in some red pepper, yessir.

I carry a dip can full of tuna wherever I go for when I need a protein boost.

There's a lot of low carb bars out there. The Atkins ones are a bit more expensive, so I've been able to find some that aren't as expensive at Wal-Mart with the same amount of impact carbs.

The Trio Bars taste far better than Atkins Bars and most other bars I've had. They run about $2.25 a bar at various Nutrition Houses. The bummer is they only have 3 flavors.

EAS AdvantEdge bars aren't bad and are less expensive. I found some other ones at Wal-mart tonight that I'm gonna try.

Let me know if you like em... I've tried about 5-6 different brands... I use to like Cliff bars but I don't think those puppies spare the carbs - at all.

Yea, EAS bars were not on my tasty list. I can tolerate their meal replacement drinks ok.

I bought an Atkins chocolate peanutbutter bar last night to eat at the movie i went to see. It wasn't bad but it was no reesee cup! kind like a very stale one but when you haven't had anything sweet in your mouth for awhile~ it was purty good. And it left a nice sweet taste in your mouth. :D
The cookies-N-cream one and the chocolate coconut ones were sold out, maybe that means they are pretty tasty.
They had some bar called carbo-rite or carbo-lite, not sure which, but they were cheaper but pretty small and had 0 sugar carbs. They had caramel flavor, toffee and pecan flavors. I'll have to try one to see how they taste.

by far, the best bars out there are Detour, Uturn, and Oneway. They are all made by Next Protein and have really started to revolutionize the protein bar market. If you haven't tried them, do yourself a favor and do it.

when Detour bars came out, they sold the piss out of them, you couldn't buy them because as soon as a store got a shipment in, they'd sell out almost immediately. That was a long time ago, you can buy them at Target now.

Detour tastes just like a snickers bar...30 grams of timed release protein with 12 grams of sugar. Sugar is a little high, but the taste makes it worth it.

Uturn is similar to a Milky Way. same protein and sugar content as the Detour.

Oneway is new, just recently came out. Same carb and sugar content as the other two. It is chocolate and peanut butter.

I've liked all the Atkins bars I've tried and their 'candy' bars too and liked them all.

I tried the chocolate Atkins shake yesterday, and I thought I was going to :barf:

I had another low carb bar while on vacation...I think it was Carb Solutions or something like that, and those were gross too.

There are some of the Carb Solutions ones that are good. I've found ya just gotta try them and then continue buying the ones you like.

no...once Detour bars came out I pretty much switched to them 100%. There are two new bars called "Odyssey" that are the first on the market to compete with them. They are much lower in sugar (3 grams - but 20 in sugar alcohal) and taste just about as good.

Tri o plex are a bit heavier but a bit softer.

carbsolutions bars are buy one/get one free at Foodlion this week. I got one of each flavor. haven't tried them yet, saving the blueberry one for breakfast monday.

i'm eating an Atkins cookies 'N creme bar with a cup of black coffee right now. Purty good i must say!

Dillons had them on sale for buy one/get one free too! The EAS Advantage ones were only 80cents. I found some of the Atkins chocolate bars at Wal-Mart for 96cents this afternoon as compared to $1.49 at GNC. Wal-mart is starting to carry a lot more Atkins stuff and a bit cheaper than GNC.

The cheapest place is GNC is you have a Gold Card which is 20% off next week.

After that, National Discount Nutrition is the cheapest...about $24 for a box....you can probably find a better price on the internet.

yep, only the first week at a corporate store...that's why I hate GNC. some of the franchise stores allow you to have your own card and use it all month long.

The GNC at the mall i go to sucks. Have to buy everything by the box. We have a discount center called the Vitamin Shoppe. Better priced than GNC and you can buy by the bar.

I'm not a lemon fan so I didn't even grab one of those. The Chocolate Cream Pie is good as is the Chocolate Strawberry Mousse.

I took Sandman's advice and bought a few tri-o-plex bars...they are pretty good. they aren't candy bar like...they are more like a food bar or a heavy cake.

Yes, most of the time I break em in half and that serves as my in between snacks to get to my eating 5 times a day vs 3 with bad snacks.

WilliamJ the new nutrition store in Matthews in front of Costco has them for $2.25 I think or close to it. Those guys are pretty helpfull in there.

By the way, if your in to TopCats or Bodybuilding... A few topcats that shop there plus Jay Cutler whoever that is will be there on August 11 for grand opening.
