Scrimmages, Jamborees, etc...

Hey football fans, it's getting that time of the year for first practices to begin. Please post all the scrimmages, Jamboree's, and other preseason happenings across the state.


The first annual Mountain Ball Jamboree will take place on Saturday August 9th at Cherokee High School at 5 pm. This event was going to take place at Western Carolina Univ. but current upgrades on the football field has prevented that from happening.

The following schools will participate in the event:

Cherokee (host school)
McDowell
Asheville Erwin
Robbinsville
Polk County
Avery County
Smoky Mountain
Walhalla (SC)

Admission will be $5 with consessions also sold.


McDowell will scrimmage Erwin (5 - 5:30), Avery (5:40 - 6:10), and Robbinsville (6:10 - 6:40). There will also be a 15 minute session for goal line offense and defense at 6:45.

Hibriten is going to have a jamboree sometime this week. I am not sure when, what time, or who is going to be there (other than Hibriten). I guess I am not any help at all.

August 9th at Freedom: Schools involved: Crest, Freedom, AL Brown, and Carver. From what I've heard all the teams will get to scrim. each other.

August 15 at Burns. Cleveland County Jamboree
The teams will play each other for one half.
Kings Mountain vs Freedom
Shelby vs Hickory
Crest vs East Rutherford
Burns vs Chase

North Irredell is to host a jamboree on August 9

Alexander Central, Statesville, South Irredell, West Irredell, South Caldwell and Lake Norman were all original invites to this event. Other skools may have also been invited. time is still TBA
