I wonder if they'll shut it down if he starts to stink it up.
I wouldn't be surprised if TA made some noise alongside Rivers.

Kiss that shit goodbye on Sept 13th.

sure it will. NCSU will only play one other top 20 all year. Rivers lays an egg in the OSU game and he is done.

Maryland, FSU, UVA are all ranked. Palmer layed an egg against KSU and got things rolling...

He's got an ugly freak'n delivery. I think the guy is really overated and gets to play with a lot of good athletes. State will be though, no doubt there.
They ain't beating Ohio State though. That is dreaming!

Palmer won by burying ND on national television at the right time. No one saw the KSU game.
I have no clue who will win this year.

Rivers buried ND also.
ND was almost as overrated as NCSU

With the ND QB watching from the sidelines too. State - I thank them for the $$$ by the way - had better beaten the hell out of ND after that.
Side note: The surprising thing to me in the Gator Bowl was that State actually ran ND over. Even though I thought ND was overrated, no one really did that last year except USC and State.
One more thing on Rivers and I'll leave it alone. Saw a stat this weekend that said the last 5 Heisman winner's teams average 10-11 wins that season. If Rivers wants to have any chance, State had better at least win the ACC and show up in Columbus.

Let's not talk about Alabama basketball

all this focus on Rivers will make for a great season by McClendon. he's a darkhorse in all this.

Sproles and Roberson also on the Heisman watchlists. I think Sproles would have a better chance of winning it.

Without question. McLendon is a horse running down the field.

Why do you think he's overated? He was hyped before his freshman year, came in and backed it up. He may never be a good NFL quarterback, but that doesn't say he's not a great college player. I don't think you give enough credit to great leadership.
Look at all of the comeback wins they've had and you'll see that his confidence played a large part in it. Look at his TD/Int ratio. He elevates the play of everyone around him.
If N.C. State doesn't beat Ohio State, they still give them a hell of a game.

his delivery is the same as Rich Gannon

Because bama recruited him to play linebacker and he went elsewhere.
rivers would have never sniffed the field at qb for alabama.

You make it sound like they have had someone better, which they obviously havn't. While I like to keep a level head about the hype he gets I put more faith in the general consensus than one disgruntled Alabama fan.

NC State was a mediocre team when Rivers was a freshman. They've come a long way in 4 years.

nc state is a good team now but rememver they were only 5-3 in the acc last year. those wins against east tenn state, navy, etc don't fool me. nc state isn't a top ten team. top 20, but not top 10 at all.
i know i'll catch hell for that one but that's how i see 'um.
