so, who is it?

Tennessee Volunteers for me.

"Wish that I was on ol' Rocky Top,
down in the Tennessee hills;
Ain't no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top;
Ain't no telephone bills;
Once I had a girl on Rocky Top;
Half bear, other half cat;
Wild as a mink, but sweet as soda pop,
I still dream about that;

Chorus

Rocky Top, you'll always be
home sweet home to me;
Good ol' Rocky Top;
Rocky Top, Tennessee;
Rocky Top, Tennessee.

Once two strangers climbed ol' Rocky Top,
lookin' for a moonshine still;
Strangers ain't come down from Rocky Top;
Reckon they never will;
Corn won't grow at all on Rocky Top;
Dirt's too rocky by far;
That's why all the folks on Rocky Top
get their corn from a jar;

Chorus

Rocky Top, you'll always be
home sweet home to me;
Good ol' Rocky Top;
Rocky Top, Tennessee;
Rocky Top, Tennessee."

So did you graduate from there 2 six? If you didn't you can't be a fan. Just ask the whiner boys.

ASU is my team - see thats where I gratricumalated from. Jerry Moore has built one powerful IAA team up there in Boone. Just wish they could figure out how to win the big one.

Now I would say I'm a UNC fan but I might get accused of being a walmart greeter or something. BTW - do they sell Tennessee stuff at Walmart?

Of course I always wanted to be a Niner football fan but that high school doesn't play football.

so I guess I'll just go ahead and admit to being a Tar Heel fan too.

Hot damn.

And then their were two.

Tennessee Vol. Grew up in the Kingsport area. Being a UT fan is mandated by law.

Went their, but transfered to ETSU for a girlfriend who turned out to be psycho. Turned out to be good, cause UTs environmental program kind of went belly up soon after, while that's one of the good ones at Easy T.

Shall I remind those Volunteers exactly what happened one morning in Dallas (Cotton Bowl) back in 2001???? Nah, I won't bring up anything about getting taken behind the wood shed and getting beat by some Wildcats that weren't picked to win that game. Oh that was such a cold morning - 29 degrees to be exact!

Whatever makes you say that??? We may not have won a NC (yet), but with Snyder at the helm, we're gonna get one soon! (And then I can get my Powercat tattoo!)

BTW I like Tennessee because Kentucky hates them so much...and Duke because UNC hates them so much.

OH we've taken Texas (not last year), have beaten Nebraska 3 out of the last 5. It's Oklahoma we can't seem to get past (and Colorado occassionally). We should have been in the NC in 1998. I was on my way to Pheonix until we blew the championship game to A&M. Shouldn't complain too much, because the Vols would have really kicked our asses that year if we had played them in the Fiesta. I went to San Antonio instead and had a great time. This year looks promising, so we'll see how the season goes!

Furman Paladins - gradutated in '93. Expecting the Southern Conference to have great competition this year, especially expecting Ga Southern, Wofford, App State, Elon, and Furman all to have the potential to make the I-AA playoffs (not all of them, of course, but the Southern Conf. did send three teams to the playoffs last year).

USC Gamecocks! - been a fan all my life and also graduated from there in '96. The Gamecocks had a great recruiting year and I'm itching for the season to begin!

Here's a great Furman memory: Every home game, the University president, John E. Johns would come down to the front of the home-side stands and lead a cheer that went, "F.U one time! F.U two times! F.U. all the time!" Where else can you see the university pres. leading a cheer telling the other team to F... off?! :D

I've honestly never been a college football fan before. I'm going to root for Florida sort of, but only because of Chris Leak, and despite the fact that I visited Gainesville last week, and whoever calls New Jersey the armpit of America has never been to Gainesville.

So, that being said, the Mountaineers of West Virigina are my first ever favorite college football team. I have no doubt that head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff will direct the team to easy victories over Va. Tech and Miami along their way to a Big East title, then only the 2004 NCAA championship. Go 'Neers!!!!!!!!!!!

Grew up a Hogs fan in the heart of the Ozarks. Spent many Saturday afternoons eating popcorn and shouting WOOOOOOO PIG SOOIEE!

Fresno State.
Went to FSU briefly, and have always lived within about 5 miles of the campus. I didn't follow the team much until Pat Hill took over as head coach. Ya gotta love a coach who gives his players t-shirts to wear that say "SHUT UP AND HIT SOMEBODY!"

Navy.

1. Penn State - alma mater (MBA). Joe is getting long in tooth, and while I was hopeful for last year, didn't quite happen.

Penn State

"Fight On, State!"

Fight on, State! Fight on, State!
Strike your gait and win.
Victory we predict for thee.
We're ever true to you, dear old white and blue!
Onward, State! Onward, State!
Roar, Lions, roar.
We'll hit that line, roll up the score,
Fight on to victory evermore.
Fight on, on,
On, on, on!
Fight on, on,
Penn State!

"Victory"

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! for the Blue and White,
Victory will our Slogan be.
Dear Alma Mater, Fairest of all,
Thy loyal sons will obey thy call,
To FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! with all their might,
ever the goal to gain;
Into the game for Penn State's fame,
Fight on to vic'try (WE! ARE! PENN! STATE!) Fight on to victory!

2. NC State. Married into the Wolfpack family. Nothing better than great seats with my father-in-law for the Seminole game this past fall... Amato will get them a National Championship.

Yep, Annapolis recruited me heavy, too. Varsity football and valedictorian look pretty impressive to an academy recruiter, I guess. But like you, I didn't feel like giving away that big of a chunk of my life at the time. I often wonder what it would've been like, but I don't regret it.

I love going to watch Navy play. The stadium is small but nice and you can pay general admission prices to sit on a hillside behind the endzone. The only drawback is traffic in Annapolis is horrid on game day. Better come early. Watching the students march in is very cool.
