Brevard 23, East Henderson 14

East Henderson played without starting QB Zach Cooper who is recovering from knee surgery and will return to action probably next week against cross town rival West Henderson. Brevard won this game despite about 10 fumbles. The Brevard defense kept EH in check most of the night.

I got there with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd (family commitment) and the score 20-19 McDowell. Game was totally dominated by Mitchell, outgaining McDowell roughly 2.5 to 1. Second straight embarassing loss by the Titans to the Mounties, but quite honestly, Mitchell has been the better team for the past 2 years.

Kings Mt is going to be woeful,Crest has a good team but has some work to do,Shelby is going to be tuff and Burns seems to have fallen off with the departures of Burch(sp?)and of course Troy Goss......

The Cleveland County schools were in the fifth annual jamboree, held this year at Burns. It was Shelby vs. Hickory, KM vs. Freedom, Crest vs. East Rutherford, and Burns vs. Chase. They open up next week. It's Burns at McDowell, Shelby at Freedom, West Charlotte at Crest, and East Gaston at Kings Mountain. Go Burns Bulldogs, class of 1997!

Crest & Burns both looked off tonight, with both teams having some things to work on still! But they will both be fine come oct 24 (when they meet!)

PS...but please remember one thing about these games. They were scrimmage games and each game was only 2 quarters! So as in all scrimmage games, a team isnt gonna show its beat plays, or its best players!
